This camera has major upside, but there would be a steep learning curve for new photographers/videographers. The out of box auto settings wont get you the best images possible, but with a little knowhow, you can produce "Pro level" photos and videos. The kit lens is great, for a kit lens, but get a nice piece of glass for the best results. The fact that you can plug this into your computer and use it as a webcam (even though it is at 720p it will still look better than a 4k webcam) with a single usb-c cable is helpful and that it wont overheat in most shooting situations is amazing. The battery doesn't last super long (maybe an hour of video or 2 hours of photography) No viewfinder means always using the LCD (battery drain) which isnt super bright in sunny situations everything will look blown out even if its perfect. at 4k it shoots 24P or 30P 60/100Mbps 1080P shoots up to 120P The audio is actually pretty good and the included "deadcat" helps with wind and ambient noise. Almost a perfect APS-C camera for content creators (most recent videos @RC360 on youtube to see what the output looks like), small documentaries and vloggers. ... show more

If you like digging through horribly designed menus and googling absurdly named settings, this is the camera for you! Furthermore, if you like filming so much you want to shoot the same scene 3 times because the autofocus sucks and will do something different every time, defiantly get this camera. Oh, and if you really hate yourself, try to set it up with Sony's imaging edge app. You'll spend days on it and it will always work almost good enough to be helpful.
