I’ve been using the Canon EOS R6 Mark III for both photography and video, and it’s easily one of the most well-rounded hybrid cameras Canon has made. Autofocus is insanely reliable (eye/face tracking just sticks), low-light performance is excellent, and the image quality feels clean and flexible for editing. For video, it’s a big step forward—great colors straight out of camera, solid dynamic range, and much better usability for longer shoots. It pairs perfectly with an external monitor/recorder, but even on its own it’s a very capable run-and-gun setup. If you want a camera that feels professional without being overcomplicated—and works equally well for photos, YouTube, reels, or cinematic projects—this is a fantastic choice. The first Cannon system that I had was the 5D Mark ii, then the 1DX mark ii, and now I’ve upgraded to the R6 Mark iii. I have a background in street and military photography. All the lenses that I own are EF lenses. I still need to buy an RF lens. I am very impressed with this camera. I absolutely love the image quality that comes out of this system. The video capabilities are very impressive and I still have yet to explore deeper into it. Right now, I am just a dad mainly taking pictures of his kids and the occasional photo shoot side hustle now. This camera is more than capable of taking care of all the needs. I have an R5 and decided to pick up the R6III based on reviews of the low-light abilities and fast focus. Good call! The focusing is fast! I tested it with the Canon RF 70-200 2.8 set to animal detection mode on servo (my 9-month old Tibetan Terrier puppy had a play date). The only blurry picture I caught was due to user error! For those coming from the R5/R5II, the main difference is that there is no screen on the top right; instead it’s the “old fashioned” dial (and by old fashioned I mean for those of use who grew up shooting film with our own darkrooms - all cameras had the dial on top). Getting used to shifting from the screen to the dial was seamless. Also, the power button is in a different location. I shoot with back-button focusing and, of course, you can customize all of the buttons. There are some great YouTube videos on setting up the R6III - many of the suggestions did not apply to me (I’m not a professional but a life-long enthusiast), but there were more suggestions that I took to heart. While I’m already familiar with the Canon menu layouts, the videos were very helpful and saved me a great deal of time. Below are a few shots I took using animal tracking - it was spot-on. Bruh, I don’t even think I was alive as a photographer/videographer before I bought this camera. Nah, this is the best purchase I’ve made on this app by far! The photos that come out of this - bruh I don’t believe I even shot this! I want to curse in excitement so bad right now. I upgraded from the Canon 90D paired with Sigma’s 18-35mm. I just grabbed this, and paired it with the Canon 24-70, and nah - this ish here. This ish right here boy. This is life. ... show more

I guess the body that I received is defective. The camera seems to freeze when the SDXC card is added along with the CF Express card. I was using the latest LP-E6P batteries and canon suggested SD cards. Couldn’t see the replace option so returned it.
