Description

The EOS C50 camera is designed to maximize creative freedom. The compact, full-featured camera body includes Canon’s newly developed 7K full frame CMOS sensor with 3:2 open gate internal recording capabilities, 4K/120P and Cinema RAW Light up to 7K/60P. The EOS C50 features Canon’s next-generation Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, simultaneous 2K crop recording, built-in Frame.io Camera-to- Cloud integration, and supports XC protocol which allows for remote control over IP via Wi-Fi® or a compatible third-party USB-C ethernet adapter. The included detachable top handle adds two full-size XLR audio inputs, a start- stop button, and a zoom rocker. In addition, this camera can capture 32MP still images in Photo mode. The EOS C50 seamlessly integrates into almost any production environment, delivering flexibility and outstanding image quality in a package that practically fits in the palm of your hand.

The Canon EOS C50 is an impressive cinema camera that punches well above its size. Canon did a great job blending true cinema performance with a compact, run-and-gun-friendly body. It’s perfect for documentary, commercial, corporate, and solo-operator work. Image quality is excellent. Canon color science looks fantastic straight out of camera, and the ability to shoot Cinema RAW Light and 10-bit 4:2:2 gives plenty of flexibility in post. Dynamic range is solid, and low-light performance is better than expected for a camera this small. Autofocus is a major highlight. Dual Pixel AF is fast, accurate, and reliable—especially for face and eye tracking. This makes it ideal for one-person crews, interviews, and gimbal work where pulling focus manually isn’t always practical. I also appreciate how lightweight and balanced the camera feels. It’s easy to rig up or strip down, and it works great on gimbals and handheld setups. The RF mount opens the door to Canon’s newer lenses, while adapters make it easy to use EF glass without issue.     • Excellent entry cinema camera
Outstanding cinema camera in this price range. I love being able to film in 7k open gate without having to be in RAW. Having C-Log2 is also a huge bonus. I have the R5C, and prefer the video I can get out of the C50.

    • Novice using the c50
It should come with a hardcopy when you’re trying to look up one particular thing it’s difficult to find using the iPad or the iPhone. With the hardcopy, you can put place markers for the areas you’re gonna be using that day. If you have any questions, just pull the pace page makers find your spot. The camera is great. I am going to have to get used to not shooting with an eye viewer. I am acknowledge using the cinema camera that should help to explain why I’m having so many problems.
