    • This is the real EvDiag software, works great.
This is the real Evinrude EvDiag software and it works great. The included cable is high quality and is the Evinrude 3 pin connector to USB. A lot of the Evinrude cables out there are for Serial Ports, which is a pain on modern laptops, so this USB cable is great! You may have trouble installing the cable drivers, but the readme file on the CD has good instructions. The printed direction sheet is a bit lacking, but the readme and install manuals on the CD tell you everything you need to know. I used this software to pull engine history reports, check codes, install new fuel injectors, and run some diagnostic tests. It's great, and saves me the hassle and expense of going to the dealer for diagnostics! If you have an E-tec, you need this. ... show more

Worked like a charm! Software can kind of be a pain to install, but as long as you follow the directions you should be okay. Saved me $$$ - Local dealer was going to charge me $250 to plug the motor in and read the diagnostics.

Software had no install or auto exe files. Had to be extremely efficient at computer skills to install . My computer locked up in dos after trying to install.

    • Works,but better instructions are needed.
Instructions on loading the software were ok, but lacked information in that section on loading drivers for the cable I received. I received USB cable CP 210x which had no instructions unless you knew where to look. Finally figured it out and the seller was no help at all. He said load the driver. Well I need to know what cable I actually had to do that. If I didn't plug it into my laptop I wouldn't even known. After all the frustrations I did get it to work. Better information is need as to what you are actually getting and what drivers you need to load depending on your operating system. ... show more

    • A bit involved to set up for Windows 11. Product support was good.
I set up the software on a laptop with Windows 11 and no CD drive. Customer support emailed me the set up and drivers. They also ensured that I got all installed for a working product. Of course a plug in and play would be great but it's an old product that compatibility issues had to be updated to work with new hardware. 4.5 for the product and 5 for the support ... show more

After purchasing the diagnostic software, we were able to diagnose our 250HP Evinrude eTech engine. The results were a bad crankshaft position sensor. After replacing the part, we are up and running again.
