Description

While inheriting the basic functions and design philosophy of the current PlayStation 2, the internal design architecture of this newly redesigned PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system model has been completely overhauled. Slimmer and more lightweight, its internal volume has been reduced by 75 percent, overall weight has been halved and the thickness trimmed down to 2.8cm (thickness of current model is 7.8cm). Its size is almost as small as a hardcover book, making it easier to carry around. Equipped with both a modem port and an integrated Ethernet port for network gaming, the new PlayStation 2 sets new standards in the fusion of design and functionality.

  • MUST HAVE!!!
Came in great condition no problems with starting up legit!!! Only problem was with slightly wear and tear scratches on the console but none within the disc drive so it wasn’t a big issue

  • Scratched my game to death
Turns off after a few minutes of using. It also scratched up my game! Tried another game just to make sure and did the same. I’m really mad because I bought it a few months ago and only had time to play it recently, so I can’t even return it because it’s out of warranty. Don’t buy this garbage

  • Beautiful and it Works!
To begin with, I was a tad nervous after reading some of the 1 or 3-star reviews with damage or even dead roaches or bugs inside the player. However, because of the pandemic and the difficulty in acquiring a PS5, I’ve been rediscovering an appreciation for my older PS2 titles and took the chance since a majority of the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. I gave away my PS2 slim to my 7 year-old nephew at the time a little over a decade ago. I also gave away or donated most of my games to my nephew or orphanages, but I kept a few that I loved in storage. My product arrived a day before the expected arrival, and man, I forgot how small the PS2 slim model was! Mine works perfectly and there was no damage or anything. VERY MINOR scratch on the top of the player, but other than that, nothing was compromised. I unearthed my old PS2 games I kept and been enjoying those all over again, especially ones that I know will likely never be ported over digitally (or never remastered) to the newer generation consoles. If you have the extra buying power, then I HIGHLY recommend this. I’d also recommend buying a couple of memory cards, an extra controller (if you like) and the PS2 HDMI converter/adapter in case your TVs don’t support those classic, colored, Audio-Video (AV) component cables. So I purchased that too separately to enjoy my games with an HD experience! Thank you! It’s been the best! ... show more

  • Still the best!
The slim version of the PS2 is still the greatest console ever made. It's an improvement of the first wide console which had a high failure rate and cost customers a lot of money. The console has the largest library of any kind ever, and is backward compatible with Original Playstation games, in all too many games for a casual gamer to have time for in one lifetime. My purchase has already given me hours of bliss playing old games I should never have let go. The game Deus Ex: The Conspiracy is especially relevant now; plagues, conspiracies and artificial intelligence are brought into play in a story you'll never forget. The Madden and WWE games were far more fun, there were no microtransactions and single player games were private, and all genres were full of greatest hits as well as underrated titles. Somehow games were more immersive and fun. Medal of Honor was still good, platformers were at their best, and though some titles have had or are getting remakes and remasters, not enough are. To play a PS One game, remember to have a suitable memory card unless you plan on doing speed runs. You can't use the PS2 memory card for original Playstation games. If you remember, or never had the sheer pleasure of using this amazing console, do it. You will not see the mind-blowing graphics of the PS4 or 5, but forget that and get lost in great gameplay. Worth every penny! ... show more

  • NASTY TERRIBLE/ BROKE
AMAZON and the Renewal Company ROCK 30 games should be embarrassed for allowing this PS2 to leave their doors and be shipped out. If customers are paying $200 plus dollars for this, you should at least clean the system out of the nasty brown mold that is inside. (Photos of disc tray)That is probably skin cells from the last owners that have been sitting there for the past 10 years. I can’t imagine what the inside looks like. On top of that the system that I received has a issue with possibility the disc tray or disc reader that is not allowing the system to properly read the disc that is causing the system to freeze and music skips. I tested the system out on several games for a couple hours and they all the same issues. I even went as far as to test my discs on another friends system and the discs work fine. So it’s the system and was not probably renewed. I’m working now to get a replacement or refund so I can have it properly repaired and clean out like it should have been. I hate writing reviews like this but man the renewal company should of never let this be sent out like this what a terrible experience ... show more

  • IT WORKS! Needed Some Issues to be Fixed
It works up until now. I have had my PS2 for almost a full month now. However, there were some issues that I had to fix myself. I mean it’s an old system, of course it’s going to come with some problems, it’s almost ancient technology. My first issue was the Playstation giving my first game a perfect circle scratch. Luckily I digging through the comments before my system was delivered and was recommended to open the system and push down the copper flap next to the laser. Speaking of which, my system was not reading some discs properly as well so I was told to clean it with a Q-tip dipped in alcohol. After doing both of those things, my PS2 has been working with no issues! 5/5 if it wasn’t for all the dust I found inside the console. ... show more

  • PS2 review.
I've always been a loyal PlayStation user, ever since the original PS-1. The PS2, when it came out had some excellent and well done titles, Gran Turismo 4, Star Wars Jedi Power battles, the Lord of the Rings games based on the movies that had come out around the time the console was introduced. For the time, and the console, these offerings were very good. I also found some rarer titles that were just as entertaining. It's a good console that packs a lot in for what it is. Some of the graphics hold up well even today. I was lucky to find one in good condition. Thank you to the company and people who sold this to me. ... show more
