This bidirectional scanner is actually pretty good. lt not only pulled the original PIN code from the ECU but walked me through reprogramming both keys in under 15 minutes. The "Security Access" feature works like magic on GM vehicles-no more waiting days for dealer codes. I also reached out to tech support via the email they provided in the description, and they got back to me that same night. lt's amazing! The extra coding functions surprised me-we've used it to reset airbag lights and even reprogram a Tesla Model 3's door module (yes, it works on EVs!). The 8-inch screen stays crisp in direct sunlight. At $1,399, it's pricier than basic code readers, but the time saved on jobs that used to require dealer visits has already covered the cost. lf you're serious about modern vehicle security systems, this is the real deal.

I purchased this scanner on April 10, 2025, believing I was buying an original Launch product, as it was sold by what appeared to be an authorized distributor (according to the listing). However, when I tried to use the device, several functions didn’t work properly or wouldn’t even open. I contacted Launch technical support in the United States, and they informed me that this model is not designed for the U.S. market—it’s an “overseas” version intended for other continents. This important detail was never disclosed in the product listing at the time of purchase. What’s most frustrating is that, despite being just over a month old, the device still hasn’t worked as it should. I haven’t been able to use it on any vehicle. It’s very concerning that such a product is being sold on Amazon without any clear warning about regional restrictions. I strongly recommend exercising caution before purchasing this item and making sure it’s compatible with your country.

I've used a few scan tools over the years, but this Launch x431 immo plus is really impressive. Compared to other similar scanners, it offers truly comprehensive features for its price. The key programming function worked flawlessly. I was a little nervous doing it myself, but the tool provided step-by-step guidance throughout the process, with clear instructions. Within about 15 minutes, the progress was completed without any issues. If you're looking for a comprehensive tool that can do key programming, ECU coding, and diagnostics, this one is worth it. Great value for money. Highly recommended!

Would get 5 starts except you cannot add this to Auto Auth for dodge/nissan/mercedes. The OBD connector cable is long and gets in the way most of the time as well.

This tool is very capable for the price you pay. It has been able to do some activation and special functions that some of my other more expensive tools can not, including retracting some brake calipers on some 2024 and 2025 vehicles. Also shows some data pids that other tools did not. The immo side conveniently askes for your NASTF login before you can do anything Immobilizer related. This tool can program a good amount of keys and can even read some modules that my other tool had trouble with. I like the size and the size of the dongle, small but not small enough to forget about it and leave in a customers car. All around this is definitely a tool worth having to bail you out when other tools fail.

Very Disappointed. I've used a LAUNCH X431 V+ PRO 4.0 2022 Elite Scan Tool for the last 2 years. I capture my reports on the unit and then upload them to my Google Drive account thru the app. This unit will not let me install any apps on it. It appears to be locked. I reached out to the seller and they were very friendly but no help. I thought about returning it, but I used AMEX rewards points to purchase it. I decided to keep it, but I am very disappointed that an expensive scan tool and IMMO device will not let me install software on it from the Google Play Store. Update (02.09.2026) - Went out to use this evening and now it's saying it needs to be registered again. It was registered after I bought it. So I walk inside my house to get the serial number and registration code. Enter it and it tells me it already been used I attempted a chat with support but they are on holiday until 02.28.2026. This is so frustrating.

It's a great immo scanner, I'm still checking it up but so far is a good tool. After I finish a couple of cars with this tool I'll update my review. As an update, I did a Siemens ecu coding and it was smooth... I recommend this scanner. Easy to use.
