  • Love the fit right out dof the box but…….
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Bay Gaucho
I was excited to see these boots available on EE (extra wide) sizes. I pretty much wear a size 11 across the board from Vans to dress shoes and boots. I was a little bummed to see that the boots that I wanted we’re not available in 11 EE. I had read some reviews that suggested the boots run a little bit large and that most people tend to size down so I took a chance on a 10 1/2 EE, so glad I did. The fit out of the box is comfortable but leaves room for break-in, instep is a bit more generous than Ariat for sure but certainly doesn’t feel overly sloppy, nice support across the top of foot. Heel feels nice does not slip with thicker socks that I would normally be wearing with boots. I am a hard to fit boot foot. I tend to have Fred Flintstone feet for those of you who remember who he is. Anyway couldn’t be happier. I got these boots after sending back two pair different Ariat work boots. I love my old Ariat work boots they’ve been a good friend. I don’t know what has happened to Ariat work boots lately, but they are running really small and just seem poorly made. Last comment is that the arch support is there it’s good for those with a normal arch. I tend to have a very high arch and these boots are going to be perfect to allow me to wear my arch support inserts so if you have problems with your arches, whether you have shallow arches or high arches, these boots seem very forgiving, and comfortable. Glad I took a friend’s advice and gave the Justin work boot a try. Only time will tell, but first impressions are I’m gonna’ like this boot very much. ... show more

  • Good quality work boot /Nine Year Update
Size: 11 Color: Bay Gaucho
I wanted a leather slip on work boot. The fact that these boots are USA made got my attention. Ariat was another considered brand. These are excellent leather. The comfort of these boots support the technology that went into the construction. You can feel the ground but with the right amount of padding that protects and supports doing work on various types of terrain. These boots are confidence inspiring when stepping on uneven ground and on top of debris. There is a break in period, of course. I am using a heavy sock. I have a pair of US made dress Justin Ropers in the same size. Two years from purchase. I love these boots and use a thick boot sock . By now they are well broken in, supple and soft. These offer the foot protection I was after for working around farm equipment and wood cutting. I feel stable and confident using these boots any use except where a lace up would provide be needed for walking on a an angled roof. Update, I have been wearing these boots for a year. These are excellent, durable, and well fitting, performing boots. I use thick wool hiking type socks. I have read these type of boots are designed to be worn with thick socks. The heel and foot bed has excellent stability. The leather quality is impressive. These boots are now very easy to walk in after having used the wetting and wearing break in method recommended. The boots look better having been worn than new. Three years using these boots. They continue to deliver the protection and support I wanted in a work boot. About every six months I clean and apply a generous amount of saddle soap, air dry then brown polish. The soles and heels show little wear. Of course if I used them everyday they may be worn out by now. ... show more

  • Great work boot.
Size: 14 Color: Bay Gaucho
The size 14D feels a little roomy on the width, so I'll be using the thicker medium weight cushioned boot socks. Its plenty long, toes have enough room. They are a bit wider than my old size 14D Red Wing Pecos and about the same as my lace up Red Wings. They will need a substantial break in period for sure, but so far I'm happy with the fit and finish. Looks like the durability will be good, time will tell. These are a full height boot, you will need over the calf boot socks. Probably the cushioned western boot socks or at least the medium thick wool over the calf hiking socks. I started with the thin dry fit boot socks and the fit was too loose. I think they will break in nice with a thicker sock. ... show more

  • Great boots, but one was too big
Size: 13 Color: Bay Gaucho
These boots were great looking and appeared to be well-made. I was disappointed, though, when they arrived and the left boot was a bit larger than the right. The right boot fit great and felt wonderful. The left boot was sloppy and a bit to big. It was almost as though it was a size bigger and mismarked. I would have exchanged for another pair, but amazon prime was out of them and I don't want to risk having to pay return shipping for a pair that has the same issue. ... show more

  • JUST-INcredibly good boots
Size: 8.5 Color: Bay Gaucho
I now have two pairs of boots. An older pair of cowboy boots and these new gaucho's. Boot fitting, particularly cowboy boots is not the same as buying a pair of shoes. The ball of your foot needs to rest where the boot flexes, the instep should be snug but not too tight or too loose, and the heel slips a little, right? If you wear boots you know this. You also know they take a little bit to break in. Once they get to that point, they become a good old pair of boots and you can wear them for the rest of your life. I have a little wider foot and a very high arch. Footwear is something I would typically never even consider buying off the internet. I need to try them on and walk around in them. With a Prime account and free returns I had nothing to lose, so I bought these dogs from Amazon with no fear of fit issues. Since they are gaucho's (not a cowboy heel and foot bed) I ordered my typical shoe size. Damn things fit perfect. I have been wearing them every day since I bought them because it won't stop snowing in Michigan and the streets are still holding every inch of snow that has fallen since December 1. These boots have kept me dry, relatively warm and have good traction on the ice. They aren't made to survive the Polar Vortex, but they are good enough for getting around town in the dead of winter without looking like an Eskimo. ... show more
