The Gotrax GXL V2 is a fantastic entry-level scooter for short urban commutes. At under 26 lbs, its lightweight aluminum frame is exceptionally portable. While the 15.5 mph top speed is modest, the cruise control makes for a very comfortable ride.

I purchased this scooter in 6/2023. Initially, it functioned well, but just after a month of use, the throttle stopped working. I contacted support and, after sending them a video demonstrating the problem, they confirmed the piece was damaged and sent a replacement. The replacement took about 2 weeks to arrive, so in the meantime, I had to walk to work. Once I received the replacement, the scooter worked fine for a while, but then it started making a terrible, loud sound. Whenever I'm going uphill, it makes this loud, terrible squealing sound, and I have to kick to assist it, or else it won't go up, and it would completely drain the battery. Speaking of the battery, it lasts no more than 3 or 4 miles and its endurance seems to be diminishing over time. I fear that soon I won't even be able to complete my usual 2-mile round trip before the scooter dies. My girlfriend bought a Volpam scooter for a very similar price and it works great: the battery lasts several days, it doesn't make any noise, it goes faster, and it doesn't die going uphill. I wouldn't recommend this scooter to anyone. Sadly, I might have to buy a new one soon because I don't think this one will last much longer. Overall, it was a very bad experience. Don't waste your money on this scooter. Update (Dec-2023): The throttle stopped working again out of nowhere. The worst part is that I was going downhill when the screen turned off and the brakes didn't respond when the scooter was off. So I was fortunate enough to have the green light ahead when this happened and that no one was in front. Otherwise, this could have ended up pretty bad. I don't know what else to say at this point. Had scooter for about a month and then it would work. Contacted support and got help from employee name Bay. First sent a new front wheel motor but it did not solve the problem. Immediately after letting him know I was sent a brand new scooter. Bay was a great help and the scooter is working great.

The media could not be loaded. I couldn't wait to unpack and assemble it as soon as I got home. The quality is excellent. I previously owned a GoTrx children's electric balance bike, and this time I got an electric adult scooter. My family loves it. We ride it for about 20 minutes a day, and the battery capacity lasts for 3 days. It's powerful, with excellent braking and acceleration. Over time, I’ve had a few minor issues, but nothing major. Whenever something came up, I either checked online or contacted customer service via email with a quick photo and explanation. They responded with clear guidance, and I was able to order the necessary part and install it myself. The scooter is easy to dismantle, which makes diagnosing and fixing small problems straightforward. I also love that the battery is housed in the stem rather than under the deck; it feels better protected from water and road debris. This is my first electric scooter and it has been very convenient for my daily commute. It saves me a lot of time, and since I started using it, I rarely feel like walking for short distances anymore. Even on rainy days, I sometimes still want to ride it. It’s especially convenient for quick trips, like going out to buy small items. I’ve been using it for about a week now and overall the experience has been great. The only small issue is that the acceleration at the start feels a little slow, but once it gets going, the ride is smooth and stable.
