Description

This 20V MAX Jig Saw has an all metal, lever-action keyless blade clamp designed for quick and easy blade changes and an all-metal keyless shoe bevel with four detents at 0 degree, 15 degree, 30 degree, and 45 degree to make bevel adjustments easy. The variable-speed trigger of the cordless jigsaw provides up to 3,000 strokes per minute to easily adjust speeds during cutting and 4-position orbital action for wood cutting. A removable shoe cover helps protect materials from scratches and the dust blower helps users see where they're cutting. Battery and charger sold separately.

My DeWalt impact driver used to be my favorite DeWalt tool. It still is for usefulness but ... THIS JIGSAW ROCKS! I would give it 6 stars if I could. I've always used a corded saw and always hated the cord. For some inexplicable reason it never occurred to me to get a cordless version. I finally decided to splurge and I doubt I'll ever use the corded saw again. There's much that I could talk about, but I'll just touch on the obvious. BTW, my neighbor was over the other day and he was laughing when he tried the saw. He couldn't believe how nice it is. From the moment you lay eyes on this and then pick it up for the first time you will feel a sense of joy settling into your soul. It's solid and built like a tank. There s not a control on this saw built cheaply. It's as if it were built for combat service. With the battery installed it feels well balanced and is easy to control. The motor is ridiculous. Fast. Powerful. Smooth. Quite loud at high speed, but without checking the numbers I'll bet this is twice the speed of my corded. The speed control is awesome. It's effortless to baby the blade at super slow and gently increase speed. The heavy duty base has a positive locking detent at 0 degrees and a large, heavy duty lever keeps it securely locked at other angles. The quick release is another example of impressive engineering. Imagine working a latch that meets minimum requirements. Now imagine if they bolstered the weight and thickness of the parts by ten. It's just a pleasure to operate. I hadn't realized that they made jig saws with a dust blower. That is just awesome. No more hunched over, blowing with my mouth as I move along! UPDATE: I've used this saw countless times now, in the shop (convenience of no plug) and in my on-going kitchen renovation. I still LOVE this saw! I make good use of the four oscillating settings, depending on rip versus cross cutting, as well as the desired quality of cut. It has excellent speed control - nay, perfect speed control. Why did I wait so long to get one of these?!! This is the best Jigsaw I have ever owned! Cuts very nicely and easily. Has a light and blows the saw dust away. Easy blade change. I love this thing!

Tool is awesome and works well. I wanted to figure out how to install the Anti-Splinter insert (a zero-clearance insert for the rest of us) so I opened the instructions... and opened, and opened, and opened. I measured them. The instruction sheet is a single page, 34" x 22" with teeny-tiny type and very small lettering and illustrations for this 50+ year old guy. For crying out loud, I felt like I was opening a map! It was folded eleven ways from Sunday to fit into the box! Now I know why it cost so much! $25 for the excellent tool and another $100+ to buy this huge sheet of paper, find a laser printer that can print something that large, and a poor guy to fold it half a gazillion times and stuff it in the box. Oh! I almost forgot! It's DOUBLE SIDED with the other side in Spanish! Yay! Really Dewalt? 30% of the instructions are safety-oriented, 60% on how to interpret and operate the battery and charger and a full 10% towards the tool itself, with illustrations and type that are way too small for your target audience to even read. Whoever though THAT was a good idea should be brought out behind the woodshed. Oh, the jigsaw itself? Awesome, can't say enough. Love it but can't get over the instructions... ... show more

Bought this jigsaw during Amazon Spring deals from MajorSavings2You. Apparently, vendor sold it too cheap. Supposed to be 2 days delivery. I immediately received a notice that shipping was delayed due to saw being out of stock. Was now 2 weeks later delivery. After 2 weeks got another notice that it was delayed another 2 weeks. Was given an option to cancel the order and get a full refund. Checking online the saw was still available for 2 days delivery but at $50 higher price. I selected to wait for the delivery. After 2 weeks got another notice that it was delayed another 2 weeks and I should probably cancel and take the refund. Elected to wait, mainly to see how long they were going to delay and try to get me to cancel. Finally delivered 8 weeks after I bought it. Saw is good quality and works great. Would not recommend the vendor for anything and will never buy from them again. ... show more

A well built, powerful, cordless jig saw. I have been using a Skil jig saw the better part of 30 years and it's a toy compared to this professional saw.The DCS331B cuts through 3/4" stock like butter, with no blade deflection. When you turn on orbital action, it really becomes a scroll saw, allowing you to quickly move the blade in any direction, making curved and other intricate cuts a breeze.The built in blower is great for moving debris out of the path of the cut. I have had no trouble cutting wood and metal. One problem I had, which turned out to not be a problem at all, had to do with the quick blade change mechanism and T shank blades I was unfamiliar with the way this worked (my other jig saws all had set screw blade holders) and spent a good hour trying to keep inserted blades from falling out. Turned out I was doing it wrong. A few things to remember. Pull back the Blade Relese Lever fully. Insert the blade as far as it will go. IMPORTANT Push the back of the blade firmly against the guide roller. MOST IMPORTANT Let the Blade Release Lever slap back to its home position. If you release the lever slowly, the blade will not lock into place. Haven't had it long enough to comment on battery longevity, etc. But I can say, when you pick it up, you know you have a quality tool in your hand. Looking forward to finding projects around the house that will give me a chance to use this baby. ... show more
