Gate was purchased for puppy but has been used to also contain infant. After using for a month here are my comments: -Features: Gate swings both ways (inside and outside depending on orientation), has an auto-close function for gate opening less than 90 degrees, and has a stay-open function built-in for past 90 degrees of the gate opening. Features are very useful for high traffic hallways and pets/people. -Opening Gate: After a few uses, it is intuitive to unlatch the gate by using slider AND lifting the entire gate to release it. -Install: Was relatively quick, although needing to pinch and rotate small plastic knobs to pressure-fit the gate against walls was a little challenging. All four knobs at each corner of the gate need to be adjusted individually but allows for baseboards. -Alarm: Did not activate the alarm but relative who purchased the exact same gate noted that it was very loud. Since installing the gate and protection pads can take a while, I can see the use of having many of these gates around the house for kids and pets. Great product - five stars *****

It's been many years since we had a baby in the house, and some family members are no longer able to step over the traditional, pressure mounted gates with the locking bar. This time we were going to need 2 gates that had walk-thru capability, with a good sturdy latch that will keep a very inquisitive toddler from opening them, but is still easy for arthritic hands to open and close. After looking at a lot of gates, watching a lot of installation videos, and reading a ton of reviews, I felt this gate would best suit our needs long-term. Because our doorway openings were slightly too wide for the smallest gate, we had to go with the next size up. Since I would ultimately need 2 gates, I wasn't keen on spending $55 a piece on them. I've always had great luck with Amazon Warehouse items, so I took a chance and ordered 1 gate to see if we really liked it. The first gate arrived and seemed defective. Parts didn't fit right, and some parts were missing, despite the "like-new" rating. I decided that overall we liked it enough to try to order a 2nd one from the Warehouse, because $28 a piece was a lot better than $55. The 2nd one was also "like new". When it arrived I realized the first one was the wrong brand gate in the package, so no wonder the parts didn't fit together properly. The 2nd one was also missing several parts, even after I pieced it together with parts from the first one. At this point I contacted Ciays Customer Service and explained this whole story, asking if they could send me the missing parts so I could keep the one gate. After multiple unhelpful and borderline rude emails, they told me to just send it back to Amazon, they couldn't help me with replacement parts. I decided to give it one more chance, because I really liked the gate. I DID tell the Customer Support folks at the manufacturer that I liked it and planned to buy another if I could get one that worked, but that didn't matter at all to them. The 3rd gate (also from the Amazon Warehouse, again "like new"), was nearly perfect, and so far meets our needs very well. I then ordered a 4th one from the Warehouse for the other doorway, which arrived in perfect condition. So far so good in that it keeps the baby where we want him, and he hasn't yet figured out how to open it, although I believe he is trying. For one gate we used the mounting cups to keep the bolts in place, but the other one so far we haven't used them. He hasn't been able to shove either one out of the doorway. Overall I think it's a good gate, we'll see in the long run how things go with them. I don't think they were worth paying over $50 each for, and having to buy 4 just to get 2 I could keep was a major hassle, but the price of around $30 each was a much better amount.

Basically easy to install in the bedroom doorway. Intuitively I pulled back lever to open gate, but it wouldn't open. Several tries required help from my wife who inadvertently lifted it at the same time she pulled back the lever. THAT was the key to opening the gate. It has a battery powered buzzer in case your child or pet manages to master the skill required to open it.

I put this on my registry, so it was while before I needed to actually install it. Now outside the window for return… I have an oversized doorframe (No door) to the office in my house. I bought this gate as it was the highest rated one that claimed to accommodate this oversized entryway. … at the stretch required for this door- a size within advertised range- it collapses like wet paper with a mere hand on top. Cannot tighten anymore bc it is maxed out. Unsafe. More a hazard than anything. Not as advertised! No NOT buy if you have an oversized door.

I used this for my 2yr idk not to get into the kitchen. Super helpful and even my son asks “open” and it’s so easy to open for us adults. Though sometimes the things come loose that keeps it to the wall Toddler jerking on it everyday ofc it will do that especially with adults tripping over the step in the middle. (We forget sometimes) So definitely check here and there for sturdiness! I’ve had it for two months now? About? I will be ordering more and I’ve already recommended this to family and friends. :) $50 for this is pretty good! Edit: (Update months later, after I ordered another I have come to realize my husband didn’t install them correctly. LOL. That’s why they come loose, you’re suppose to drill a part into the wall to keep it there! He did not. Now our son is 3 and has learned to unscrew the bolts HAHAHAHA.🫣🥲)
