Description

The Canon RF75-300mm F4.5-6 brings approachability to zoom shooting. An impressive zoom range of 75-300mm (approx. 120-480mm with an APS-C camera) allows you to bring your subject close when you physically can’t get closer to them, like when watching sports or photographing wildlife. The lens itself is portable and lightweight for a zoom lens of this range making it easy to bring with you on your outings. For a professional look to your images, nothing matches the compression and bokeh you get from a long zoom lens.

  • Really good entry level
Style: Lens Only
The Verdict This lens is designed for beginner photographers who need significant reach for sports or wildlife without spending much. While it is lightweight and affordable, it inherits several drawbacks from its 1999 predecessor. It lacks modern features like Image Stabilization (IS) and uses a slower DC focus motor rather than the newer STM or USM technology. For those on a strict budget, it provides a functional way to get close to the action, but users seeking sharp, professional-grade results may find it limiting. Image Quality: It performs reasonably well in the center of the frame at shorter focal lengths. However, sharpness tends to drop off at the 300mm end, particularly in the corners. Autofocus: The lens uses a DC motor, which is noticeably louder and slower than more modern Canon lenses. This can make tracking fast-moving subjects for sports or video more difficult. Handling: One notable handling quirk is that the front element rotates during focusing. This makes using polarizers or graduated filters challenging. Lack of Stabilization: Since there is no Optical Image Stabilizer (IS), you will need a steady hand or a tripod, especially when zoomed in to 300mm, to avoid blurry shots. ... show more

  • Fantastic Zoom Lens For The Price
Style: Lens Only
Fantastic quality lens. Works like a charm on my R50. Pictures come out nice and crisp, just be aware of the lack of stabilization. I don't mind the weight on my R50 but it can be a bit awkward since the body is so small and light.

  • Great lens to start out if budget is a factor.
Style: Lens Only
Its a nice budget/starting lens, however you are missing the auto stabilizer feature. Its very simple to use, I love that it has 3 triangles showing you whether or not your shot is perfectly focused in manual focus mode. The lens is quiet bulky and heavy which may affect your stabling.

  • Decent for the price but you should definitely save up for the 100-400mm
Style: w/Starter Kit
Accidentally bought this thinking it was the more expensive 100-400☠️ should’ve read the description and or looked at the price. Genuinely the lens for being a $200 20+ year old lens isn’t as bad as I thought and definitely can do the job if you’re on a budget. Definitely would recommend spending the extra money and getting the 100-400mm though. This photo was taken using the 75-300(the one advertised) on a cannon R8 ... show more

  • Solid entry level lens
Style: Lens Only
I just started with photography. It's been a nice, what I assume to be, entry level telephoto lens. I was hoping the zoom would be better, but for the cost, I shouldn't expect more.

  • The lens is heavy and does not come with stabilizer. So, tripod is highly recommended.

  • Exactly as expected
Style: Lens Only
Exactly what I expected, it has a little chromatic aberration, and weird colors sometimes depending on the lighting conditions, but is super cheap, RF mount and with a fast autofocus motor. So, yeah, I like it

  • Very good if the drawbacks don't bother you.
Style: Lens Only
Don't trust the poor reviews. This lens is quite solid. For the price point, getting so much range on a full frame camera is such a steal. Bear in mind, autofocus is slow if you're switching target points with significant distance differences. When zooming the front element does rotate with the barrel which can be a hindrance in some scenarios, but none that I have yet to encounter. Now I must mention that this is almost entirely the same lens as the EF version with the same aperture and focal length. Which was made in the 90s. The autofocus motor is the same, same glass, just a newer more modern looking barrel. That being said, it is a very solid lens for my R8 and I am quite happy with it. Hope this helps! ... show more
