When we brought the legendary ATH-M50x studio sound into the world of personal wireless audio, we created what are, simply, the best-sounding wireless headphones on the market. But we weren’t content to stop there. Introducing the ATH-M50xBT2, the second generation of our critically acclaimed M-Series wireless over-ear headphones, featuring a number of enhancements to improve performance and usability. But don’t worry – we’ve changed nothing about the critically acclaimed sonic signature. The M50xBT2 delivers the same exhilarating wireless listening experience as its predecessor, offering exceptional clarity and deep, accurate bass response. There’s even the option to adjust the headphone’s EQ settings, if you so choose – make the changes in the A-T Connect app and save directly to the headphones. In addition, we have greatly improved vocal pickup, incorporating beamforming microphone technology for clearer phone calls and communication with the built-in Amazon Alexa voice assistant. We’ve also added multipoint pairing to let you connect wirelessly to two devices at once. An updated USB-C connection, a low latency mode, and compatibility with high-quality audio codecs round out the enhancements.

I will sometimes use them for music, although I own a high-end audio system for that purpose. I have 2 pair of Focal headphones for serious listening sessions. The sound quality is very good, although I do wish they had a little more volume to them. If you wanted that, you'll need to run them in wired mode and use a dedicated headphone amp. The bluetooth works very well, and the app allows equalization among other settings. It is not necessary to use the app to use the headphones. The bluetooth pairing was fast and painless. They are extremely comfortable. The material of the earcups and headband are high-quality. I find the headband clamping pressure to be higher than I like, but the headphones are so comfortable that I don't think it's going to be an issue. They are also comfortable while wearing eyeglasses. The joints appear to be well-designed and strong. I usually do not buy headphones that are foldable for this reason, as they just don't last, even when treated gently. I don't think that is the case here. Unlike some of the better bluetooth headphones out there, the control buttons are placed so that they're actually usable. Other high-end brands that I've owned had terrible ergonomics in this regard. The battery life seems excellent. After 1 week of daily use, the battery charge has hardly changed from a full charge. I bought a pair that were Amazon reconditioned. They appeared lightly used, but not in like-new condition. The product description made it seem like they were either open-box or unused and repaired. I don’t usually leave reviews, but these headphones deserve every bit of praise. The Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 absolutely exceeded my expectations. SOUND QUALITY: The audio is simply incredible — rich, detailed, and balanced. The bass is tight and punchy without being overwhelming, mids are clear and natural, and highs are crisp without harshness. I can pick up nuances in my music that I never noticed before. Whether it’s casual listening, mixing, or watching movies, these deliver studio-quality sound. BLUETOOTH PERFORMANCE: Seamless connection with my devices (both Android and Windows PC). The low latency is noticeable — movies and YouTube videos stay perfectly in sync, and I haven’t experienced a single dropout. Plus, multipoint pairing is a great bonus. COMFORT: Super comfortable even during long listening sessions. The ear pads are soft and the headband has just the right amount of clamping force. I can wear them for hours without fatigue. BATTERY LIFE: Battery life is phenomenal. I get days of use on a single charge, and USB-C charging is fast and convenient. BUILD QUALITY: Solid and durable — typical Audio-Technica craftsmanship.     • Incredible audio quality
Excellent device, and should be for its price, but this really worth it. If you are looking for some headphones for gaming and don't care about sound quality too much, go for a cheaper option. These headphones can use the "Low latency mode" activating it from the Connect App, it allows you to use the headphones for gaming without too much delay, it can be perceived though but it minimal, and at the same time you listen every detail in the game with studio sound quality, however, if you want almost 0 delay, just use the included 3.5mm audio cable. Long battery life, excellent materials, you can feel the quality, it is NOT cheap plastic compared to some Logitech headphones. USB-C charging port, LED indicator for charge and connection status. Fast pairing. Regarding the codecs, there is NO AptX, nor AptX-HD. You can use LDAC, AAC or SBC. AAC will be selected for low latency mode. Tested in Linux successfully with LDAC and AAC, the multipoint connection also works great, but sometimes it is not recognized by the Android App when the codec is changed or when the multipoint connection is established, just close it and open the App again. Great for calls, the included audio return for your voice lets you avoid to talk too loud. The passive noise cancellation is pretty good also. It took some time to get used to this headphones, they were causing some pain in the ear surroundings and over the head, but once you find the sweet spot, you won't feel anything. I purchased this headphones for music and gaming, and I don't see my self buying another device, this just fits all my needs successfully. ... show more
