I'm just starting on my tree saddle hunting journey and purchased this XOP Mutant as my first saddle. It came with the saddle and two XPO Vector Tethers that can be used for either the tether or a lineman's rope. These ropes are pretty stiff out of the box so they will need to be worked/used to break in. These tethers each come with a nice prusik knot and a very nice auto locking carabiner. The carabiner is rated 25kn and the auto lock gate is smooth and easy to deal with. Like any carabiner, there is some noise if the gate is allowed to snap shut so you'll want to be careful when closing the gate and/or install some tape to quiet it down. The belt and leg buckles are easy to close and fit me really well. I wear 36 in waist pants so I went with the medium size. There is a lot of extra main belt slack and the sides of the saddle come up and hug my hips comfortably. For the price this seems to be a great value. ... show more

This is a good bang for your buck for sure! BUT. Being my 2nd saddle, saddle hunting for 5 years now this saddle hurts my hips, the hip pinch is real. The straps continue to come lose and it drives me a bit nuts. The ropes arnt the best but they do work. Overall it is a goodISH saddle. Great entry level saddle TBH. For someone more experienced like myself, this just isn't the saddle for me. I will most likely give it to a buddy or hand onto it as a backup to my backup. ... show more

Great saddle for the price. I’ve had a couple other “cheaper” saddles and this by far is the most user friendly and comfortable. The ropes that come with it look fairly durable. Will update if I find something I don’t like

Can't beat the price! Only hung for about 5 minutes to test it and can say this is very comfortable and built well. Feel a lot safer in this than in a traditional tree stand.
