  • Works great
We just got our kids, 9 & 7 years old, an Xbox 360 for Christmas. It only came with one wireless controller. Of course had to order extras. We have had a Wii for the last 5 years and this is a fairly big upgrade as far as screen resolution and quality of games. The wireless controllers are quick to sync with the console and the kids have found them easy to hold and use. I would HIGHLY recommend spending a little extra and going with the wireless controllers over the wired ones. Much easier to use and eliminates the possibility of people tripping and having your console crashing to the floor. I would definitely recommend getting rechargeable batteries. The good news is that these use standard "AA" size, 2 per controller. The box comes with 2 alkaline Duracells to get you started. We've had a batch of Eneloop AA rechargeables that we use with the Wii controllers so we use them for these also. Only other note is be very careful about which controllers you buy. I saw a lot of them on ebay etc, but were Chinese knock-offs. My brother's family has had an Xbox 360 for several years and have gone that route. Every single controller that they bought that was not original Microsoft OEM, had issues. Lagging, sticky buttons, not working after a few months. They eventually replaced them all with OEM units. I am usually all for buying after market items and not paying the OEM "tax" but in this case, I believe it's worth the extra expense. Also, wait for sales. You can always find these at a discount somewhere, Amazon, GameStop, etc. ... show more

  • Great Controller
While I remain a Playstation-loyal gamer, Microsoft certainly knows how to make really nice controllers. These controllers feel great and work great! One bummer (inescapable, I might add) is that these controllers auto-turn-off really REALLY fast. This isn't a problem if you're gaming, but when you stream netflix and want to pause it really fast is a major irritation. like I said though, this problem is not with the controller, but with the software and can't be avoided if you have an xbox 360. This controller also works great for PC gaming, but unless you buy the PC-specific version, you will need to get an adapter/dongle for it (links for both included below). I already had two of these controllers, so it made sense for me to buy the dongle for my standard xbox 360 controllers (this one) and not PC-specific controllers. Also, this is a plus if you have friends come over to play a local game on your PC and they only have standard xbox controllers as well. I connected 4 standard xbox 360 controllers to the adapter and it worked perfectly. If you get this, I would also buy the charge kit (link below) as you'll want a rechargeable battery (not included with this) and a cord to charge it with (you can play while its plugged in charging). Overall, this controller feels great, performs great, and is durable. 5/5 Charge Kit: http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Black-Play-Charge-Kit/dp/B000OYMYZQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1418153338&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+360+charge+kit PC Adapter: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HZFCT2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Xbox 360 Wireless PC Controller: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Controller-Windows/dp/B004QRKWKQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1418153466&sr=1-1&keywords=xbox+360+wireless+controller+pc Xbox 360 Wired PC Controller: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-360-Controller-Windows/dp/B004QRKWLA/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1418153527&sr=1-1&keywords=xbox+360+wired+controller+pc ... show more

  • this controller is better than what you find at gamestop
my controller arrived my 16,2014. this item was packed very well. when removed it from the package i found it was not glossy. i was happy because it wasn't. i bought this because i needed a new controller. when using it i noticed suttle differences, the first was that the D-pad was chrome, secondly it was a nice supprise the D-pad is much higher for easier maneuvering and not as stiff than your typical wireless controller you buy anywhere. the thumbsticks are great. they're not your typical ones. these are much better. they're more durable. it's a more durable rubber and also easier to manuver. and your thumbs fit in te center much better i waited to right this review because, i wanted to see if it could stand up to the challenge of a full 2 weeks of Black Ops 2. it did very well. using the thumbsticks i did find it to be stiff, but after the break in period which was about 3-5 days for me. to test the right trigger button i used the following guns SMR and FAL.i choose these because they're not automactic from the start. it only goes as fast as you can pull the right trigger, and i purposly used it for that purpose. since the rubber is more durable and textured differently i found your able to go around people easier. to test left thumbstick used class with extereme condictioning because you constanly are pressing up on the thumbstick. that also held up very well. all the buttons work fine. none of them are loose either i read the reviews also posted about this controller. my thing on that is, when you have items of mass production you will have issues. this issue could be quilty controll. not enough people to check everything. as a big time gamer i was very happy ... show more
