I would recommend this book to all Emilie Loring fans. I always enjoy her descriptive language as includes a little mystery and a little romance. I also enjoy the settings that are I a different time period than the one in which I live

Oh how I love these books. I started reading Loring when I was young. Now many, many years later I feel I am visiting again with a very dear friend. She is one of the only authors I can read the same book again and again.

I like Emilie Loring and find it super relaxing to sink into one of her lovely novels! This one isn't as good as some of her others. The characters weren't particularly interesting or compelling. Several plot points hang on the heroine's lack of common sense, which I always find irritating.
