  • Turtle Wax Speed Headlight Lens Restorer Kit
Style: Improved
i just finished restoring the headlights on a 2012 Honda Civic and was VERY pleased with the results. I did the headlights and turn signals which are attached to them. I didn't need to sand them as I had done the toothpaste cleaning about 8 months ago. ( You can find that method on YouTube.) They were cloudy but not yellowed like they were previous to the toothpaste cleaning. Anyway I cleaned them twice with the cleaning fluid buffing with a cotton cloth in between. And then I applied the sealant and they are pristine. There is enough cleaning fluid and sealant to do them again in a year if necessary. It took very little physical effort to do the restoration. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Works very well overall - but packaging is generic package
Style: Improved
This review is for the "Turtle Wax 53435 Speed Headlight Lens Restorer Kit with Ceramic Acrylic Protection Wipes 2 fl. oz" kit. While the listing here on Amazon shows one photo of the rear of the retail box for this product, ordering the kit from Amazon results in a generic envelope with the items inside being delivered (see attached photo of the kit and package). The bottle of polish, the instruction sheet, and the ceramic wipe packages to have Turtle Wax logos, so it looks like the real items, but it is a little surprising to get the "generic packaging" when the listing here implies this is a retail package (from that one photo in the listing). With that said, the kit worked as promised. The small double sided sanding sponge did its job of sanding down haze and scratches, and the bottle of plastic polish really shined up and clarified the headlight lenses to where they look as good and clear as new. Do note that best results are obtained with some elbow grease, so don't expect a wipe-on-wipe-off miracle improvement. You will need to apply some rubbing over a period of time to achieve the best results. It would have been nice however if the listing had indicated that the kit was the "generic package". When I first opened the shipping bag, I thought I'd received the wrong item, as it was not what I was expecting. But as it worked as promised I did not deduct any stars for the generic package. ... show more

  • Best For The Money.......Worked Good
Style: Original
I purchased this kit just recently to clean the headlights on my truck. I really don't know how much more I can add that will be helpful after so many reviews. But I can tell you that my truck is 12 years old and the headlights have never been touched as to trying to deep clean them before. They were just about as bad as they can get. So dull I am surprised any light got through them. In all honesty I didn't expect them to come out perfectly clear again after so much time. And they didn't. But what I got for the money was a considerable improvement over what my headlights were. The kit is simple to use and doesn't wear one out. The directions are clear and it should only take about a half hour per lens. (I did my headlights and fog lights and have plenty left over for another time, or vehicle). For the money I paid I am satisfied with the results. And truthfully even though I know there are probably better products out there that cost a lot more, I honestly don't think that in most cases it is worth ones time and money when you're dealing with headlights as bad as mine are. After I finished my headlights they were definitely clearer, but I still wanted to see if I could get them even better. So a couple of days later I tried rubbing even more compound onto the lights with the pads included and there was no discernible difference that I could see. I recommend this turtle wax kit for it is easy to use, very reasonably priced, and a bargain compared to other kits available locally here. But I would suggest that you use it once and don't bother with a lot of extra scrubbing for the extra sweat didn't do any good for me. Not if your headlights are as bad as mine anyway. A good product that does the job at a good price. Recommended... ... show more

  • Works reasonably well, just doesn't last...
Style: Original
I tested this product out on my car's heavily fogged headlamps. They were so scratched that the plastic looked frosted rather than clear. While the scrubbing liquid itself didn't clear up the plastic, tackling the lenses with the included sandpaper/scrub pads worked like a charm (with some elbow grease). The difference was amazing - it's not like they were like new again, but they were actually clear again! I next used just the liquid on lightly scratched lenses and they came out shiny like new. It's pretty impressive stuff. It's been several weeks and the headlamps still look great. I highly recommend this product! Updates: After a little over a month, the hazing started coming back. The sealant that comes with the kit works for a short period of time, but not for long. I've since tried the Meguiar brand kit, which I liked better, but primarily because it came with a buffing pad I attached to my drill rather than having to do all the work by hand. Even with that kit, however, the results don't last more than about 6 months. It's better than nothing, however, and better than spending $250 on new headlamps. ... show more
