This book!!!! I have read and reread this book so many times over the past week because I simply cannot move on. Without spoilers to the best of my ability the book is about Vee an omega who was previously returned because her original pack found their scent match. She has been with this new pack with Ragon, Drake, and Eli for almost 5 years. Only for one month before the 5 year period where they promised to mark her if they didn’t find their scent match… BOOM. They found her. But they also want to keep Vee. It’s fascinating to see the progression of the new and old relationships over the course of the book. You feel every snide comment hit you in the chest, every correction, every time another is made priority until the climax and cliffhangers at the end. I read a review that I think summed up my feelings perfectly. I do not want her HEA to be with any of the packs on her street none of them deserve her. I want them to grovel on their hands and knees but all for different reasons I will not spoil here. Also while I understand Marie to an extent as she has been told her whole life that scent bonds come first she let her jealousy and insecurity go too far when she was already ahead. I would never forgive the things she has done and I hope karma kicks her in the ass. No Alpha is safe from my wrath at this moment other than Dr. Asher and Chase. I cannot express enough that I hope she ends up in one of their packs (if they are not in the same one). I cannot wait for book 2 and shall continue to reread and analyze book one until it is out. Well worth the read I would give 6 stars if I could. ... show more

The best one I have read in so long. It’s 1 of 2 so not sure how 2 will be but this is by far the best so far I have read. Can not wait for the next one!

Very interesting and unique storyline. Lost a star for it being a cliff hanger with no second book published. Hopefully the next book will have a conclusion.

I really enjoyed this story. I occasionally do a blind search for Omegaverse and stumbled upon this little gem. It's incredibly interesting to see the "other" Omega, both the non-scent match and the scent match... And toxicity of the Alphas who seem to reap the reward and none of the stigma. Vee almost made it. Her Pack promised that if they didn't find their scent match in 5 years, they would bond her. She would be their Omega. One month before the deadline, they found Marie. They promised to still bond her and have two pack Omegas, and for a moment, Vee felt like everything might still be okay until she was made to be less - less complicated, less emotional, less trouble. There will be few details in this review, only character questions and warnings. This story deserves to not be spoiled. This is the perfect book for me. I was shattered. A day later, and I still can't let it go. I need the second book. Please note the triggers. The impact is real. If you have ever been abandoned, rejected for who you are, punished for your own good, or made to feel meaningless, take care of yourself while reading this. It devastated me from beginning to end. I shook while reading it. But I consider the emotional upheaval therapeutic. (Not sure a therapist would agree) It left me distraught, wrung me out, and emptied me emotionally. I physically ached. I loved it. This was a story of pain inflicted by those who claim to care the most; a story of ownership over love, one of toxic biology, betrayal, and cruelty marketed as kindness. Who is to blame - the arrogant, controlling Alpha who knows best, the stupid Alpha controlled so completely by biology he doesn't have a brain cell left, or the one who claims to want to help but is too weak to actually help? How about the Alpha brought in to balance the situation, but seems to only take notes, never intervenes, and actually assists the injustice at one point, or the ones who should be compelled by biology to want you but keep it secret? Vee is a treasure, and as far as I'm concerned, only one pack in this book deserves Vee, and they don't live on her street. I rarely want a happily ever after for a character more than I want one for Vee, or for a pack to be more miserable every day for the rest of their lives than I want her pack to be. I will only settle for eternal bliss and the seven circles of hell. ... show more

This is definitely one of the better OVs out there! I love a good angsty book and you definitely get put through all the feels. I am rooting so hard for Vee’s HEA (I’m team Chase). As much as I’d like to hate Marie, I put myself in her shoes and I think I would act the same…. Even if it’s not fair to Vee. However, Vee definitely deserves better alphas, ones that fight for her and only want her. What could’ve been better: there were moments where I didn’t know who was talking, I could kind of assume but wasn’t sure More clarity around why Vee didn't want or wasn’t considering wanting a scent match for herself. There were some confusing lines that made me feel like I missed something - like why did Chase react that way to Vee’s shirt at the end and Vee thinking his acknowledgment would get him in trouble? Also when Alex was territorial with Vee at the gym to chase, it felt like it was swept under the rug because neither of them addressed it the next time they saw each other. ... show more
