I typically wear a size 6 M in shoes and when I initially ordered these boots, I ordered the 6 m. A lot of the reviews were conflicting in terms of going down a size or just ordering the size I normally am. The boot was too large and I don't mean just a bit of extra wiggle room... LARGE, I do know that with leather/suede that you do go through a 'break in' period and there was no way that the 6 was going to work. Returned, Ordered a whole size smaller, the 5 m, and yes, snug but definitely a better fit, They were even slightly difficult to put on the first few times and I would wear them around the house or do small errands in them to help with the breaking in before really taking them out. Also wore 2 thin pairs of socks so I would not blister and thought it might help the process. I feel like it did and I would recommend this technique. Now, the boots fit perfectly fine after about 24hrs collectively of stretching them out,,, they now fit to the shape of my foot and even went hiking with them. They stay pretty clean too because i had concerns about the light colored suede. Have not jumped in mud or anything but they have gotten dirt all over them which came off super easy with a soft tooth brush. They have also been exposed to rain and dried perfectly fine and I never pre-treated them in any way. These shoes are fantastic. They just arrived today (perfect Prime shipping). The shoe is very sturdy, insulated, NOT bulky, soft nubuck feeling on the exterior, and supportive for the feet. I before thought to order similar style shoes for less to save money but then I went to order these because I wanted to pay for the quality. I go to college in Storrs, CT and it's very, very cold up there, not to mention the ice. I mainly bought these boots for their rugged and anti-slip nature and as I run around outside and inside, these boots keep up and grip to the ground very well! Sizing: I order size 6.5 boots. I wear both 6.5 and 7 shoes depending on the brand and type of footwear (if it's a boot or sneakers or heels for example). I would say I'm a size 6.75 (in between 6.5 and 7). If you are in between 2 sizes, I would definitely go down to the lower one. These shoes fit very well, snug, comfortable, but not tight at all. If you are a solid size (for example a solid 7 in most of the footwear you buy), then I would stay with size you usually order since these shoes are pretty true to size. But, if you're an in-betweener like me, I would go to the lower of the 2 sizes you're able to wear for a true snug, and perfect fit. My feet are not wide nor narrow, I believe they're just right. I received the boots today and they were exactly as expected. Very sturdy construction, not cheaply made. I was on the fence with listening to the reviews of ordering a smaller size since they run large. I am always a size 10 but wear a 9 in Uggs so I was thinking this might be the same case since 65% of reviewers said they fit one size to a half a size bigger. I decided to order a 9.5 and they do fit but I wish I had the extra room that the 10 would have provided, especially with thicker socks in the winter. My foot is not a bit wide either, I would say more on the narrower side and my feet feel constricted--wished I would have ordered the wide actually. I might exchange them but a warning that the M fits more like a narrow foot and a winter boot needs extra room for thick socks. Also, I wouldn't size down. ... show more

I bought these last minute since they were the cheapest pair of Timbs that were good for hiking in the woods. Random strangers compliment them and my ego boosts up like maybe a millimeter or 2. I wear these everywhere but work, since I work in an office setting.
