  • Ugly but Great Boots
These boots are somewhat bulky, heavy and pretty darn ugly. Though not as ugly as the pictures indicate. These are the only minor negatives in my opinion. I use these boots for work, hunting and camping and I have to say that the quality, fit and comfort have completely surprised me. The quality of the leather and the stitching blow my mind for the price. For how bulky they look the comfort and support is amazing. I can wear them all day long with no issues. I know some other reviewer’s mentioned that the toe box is small. I’ve had the opposite experience. For me, the boots fit good in the ankle, through the arch area and the toe box is very roomy. I’ve worn them down to 0 degrees all day and my feet didn’t get cold at all. I’ll definitely look to buy another pair of these but it might be awhile because these are still going strong. They’re expensive but a very very good value for the price. I would recommend giving them a nice thick coat of Nikwax or your preferred waterproof oil/wax of choice before you wear them outdoors. ... show more

  • Great boots
Ive bought 2 pair of these for work over the last 5 years. They are durable, comfortable and perform well. I will be buying a 3rd pair soon

  • Best work boots for heavy duty mechanics & towtruck operators
I had a pair of Carhartt boots prior to these and the carhartts only lasted 6 months. I’ve had these Timberland Pro’s for almost 3 years now. They break in fast, comfortable to walk in all day. They’re really warm in the winter, not too hot in the summer. Very good water proofing. Slip resistant is very good for oils, hydraulic fluid, fuel, aircraft de-ice fluid. There are only 2 complaints I have; the oem laces are complete trash and so are the oem insoles. The soles lasted me only 8 months and laces tore in like 6 months. Buy better insoles and Kevlar laces. I’ve dropped parts & tools on my foot and didn’t feel a thing. These are also really good boots for welding and using cutting torches. 10/10 must have boot for mechanics. UPDATE 7/20/24: the boots are STILL GOOD AFTER 4 YEARS of daily abuse in all climates and conditions. These are the only work boots I will buy the rest of my life. UPDATE 11/23/24: The boots lost their waterproofing. Ordered a new pair. I will forever only buy these Timberland Boondock boots!! UPDATE 1/26/26: on my second pair of this boots and still the best damn work boots you can buy! Timberland have seem to used better material for the laces since the first pair I had. The laces on these boots show no wear yet after over a year of use. Everything else about the boots are the same as just as amazing. They kept my feet warm and dry in this snow storm we just had while I was crawling around in snow, water & driver fluid repairing an aircraft de-icer that broke down. JUST BUY THEM ALREADY!! ... show more

  • Like an armored boat.
I do construction a couple days a week and needed something comfortable and basically bulletproof. Problem is that I have very wide toes. Wide width shoes don't usually help that much since they usually add more fabric to the midsection of the shoe, which isn't where I needed. I tried on nearly a dozen different boots including other Timberland Pro's, Redwings, Catepillar, Wolverine, etc and none had a toebox that was comfortable enough. Some would have been ok had they been plain leather toes since they would have stretched a little, but because I wanted a safety toe, my toes kept smashing into or rubbing against the hard toe boxes. These finally gave me a beautifully wide toebox. In fact, these have almost too much available volume. These are huge! Not too long, but just a huge amount of volume. I added another couple thin insoles to eat up some of the volume and they fit well now. The anti-fatigue insole is fantastic, and I can do 10-12 hours without nearly the pain and soreness as even very good running shoes. They have saved my feet several times already (a nail actually bent against the bottom instead of puncturing my foot) and have been more than worth the money. I spent time standing in mud and still water with zero leaks. If they reduced the overall volume (mainly vertical), I think these would be the finest workboots available. As is, while they work for me, they might be too big overall for others with more normally shaped feet. ... show more

  • Great boots, they look like clown boots on me ...
Great boots, they look like clown boots on me though. 10 1/2 men's US size, the inner fit is just about right, but without the right pants, they look somewhat clownish, and seem oversized from the outside, but they fit well on the inside. That aside, they look awesome when paired with the right pants, and feel even better. My feet do not hurt after a hard day's work, and that is really all I can ask for. They offer good protection when doing demolition and general construction work, great waterproofing, and they are not particularly heavy, although I opted for the non insulated version since I'd be using them in the summer. I spray them off at work when doing drywall finishing, top and bottom with a hose while I'm wearing them, and while I try to avoid the laces, sometimes the water will hit them, and I have yet to feel any water seep through, dry feet all day long. They are not cheap, but you generally get what you pay for, and that is certainly the case here, at least for me. I plan to buy another pair once I burn my way through the ones I have now, I wear them daily. Good tread on them as well, hasn't worn much in several months now. ... show more

  • Great boots. Take a beating.
Great pair of work boots! This is my second consecutive pair. I had my first pair for about 3 years. I am on my feet all day most days and my feet are typically subject to extreme punishment. The only reason that I got a new pair is that I had completely worn through the tread on the sole down to the foam underneath and water was starting to soak up inside the boots through the sole. For that first pair to hold up for three years working on boats in saltwater environments...I was seriously impressed. Impressed enough to buy another pair to say the least. ... show more
