The TI89 is a beast of a calculator, and can do almost any math you can throw at it. Imaginary numbers in rectangular and polar form? Check. Infinity? Check. Factoring and algebra? You bet. If you are an EE or any other engineering field, you need one of these. Literally the only downside is it's not backlit. When I bought this I didn't realize I was buying a refurbished calculator - that was my mistake, but I was OK with it as long as it was in good condition. However the calculator screen didn't work correctly. Some menu items are pixelated and it seems that some functions do not work. I reported this to Amazon and the representative walked me through the process of how to report it. The rep said I wouldn't even have to return the defective unit. Today I received a response from seller that simply says "Please return then :)". Not good customer service. Based on this experience I wouldn't recommend this supplier. ... show more

The TI-89 Titanium is an excellent calculator. It's essential for my Calc 3 and Linear Algebra classes. Unfortunately, my TI-89 Titanium was shipped with the wrong USB cable. (Refurbished) UPDATED: November 1, 2023 - Turns out the USB port inside the calculator seemed to be misaligned with the plastic casing.
