For the cost the camera is not very durable. It was attached to my bow, which was laying on my bag and slide off onto some concrete and 6” slide. Basically destroyed the camera... had to pay an additional $125 for a replacement. Be careful it seems pretty fragile. Shot a doe from about 12-yards pretty clear picture, not much recoil. Jury is still out on whether it’s worth the cost... mainly bought to track my shots better... ... show more

Do not buy!! The camera stopped working after the first use. Took two test videos at home and the I took it to the range and it never worked again. The app kept freezing and then it finally just quit working all together. The green light around the record button would come on but the camera wouldn’t do anything. It wouldn’t even allow me to turn it off. Cycled the battery 10 times and it was the same result every time. Total junk! The mounting hardware also stripped so I couldn’t even get it out of the mount when I returned it. Lastly the piece of junk mount ate in to the finish on the barrel of my shotgun. This is a very expensive gun so this makes me more mad than any of the above. I should have spent the extra money and bought the Shotkam but I didn’t and I seriously regret it. Honestly this thing was really frustrating from the second I took it out of the box. From mounting it to my gun, to connecting to the app, to “using” it....just an irritating process all around. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this thing. ... show more

Ok, so here’s the deal. It records video in surprisingly good detail for its size. Its flaw is that you manually have to press the record button to begin. It’s biggest flaw is that there is about a 1.5 second delay in between the button press and the actual beginning of recording. Being that the camera is on the far end of your barrel, it’s also not ergonomically easily to hold your gun well, spot the birds, press play, raise the gun to shoulder, and shoot your bird according to the timing that is needed to capture the shot. So if you are like me and bought it for duck/dove/quail hunting, its almost impossible to turn it on in time unless you see the birds a substantial distance out. I had a bunch of video footage of a dead duck hitting water, and very little pre shot action. Where I think this camera shines apart from the leading competitor, ShotKam, is its ability to be scope mounted. But for bird hunting, not really worth it. ... show more

I am so excited to get this Tactacam. I do a lot of Hog Hunting and have been trying to record my Hunts for years. This should be a great way to capture those moments. With that being said, I was very disappointed to find out by reading the manual, that it did NOT come with an Micro SD card which it requires in order to set it up with the Tactacam app, and to just turn on and see how it works. It constantly vibrates with no SD card inserted. So, now I have to wait til I get a SD card to see it work. I will rate it higher once I see it working, I expect that it will be a Great Device. ... show more
