The base is heavy enough that you can tear off a paper towel with one hand and it doesn’t slide across the counter. But it is not so heavy that it is difficult to move. They really hit the sweet spot on the right heaviness for the base. The flowers and butterfly decorations have held up great for over a year now, even with rough kids using it. Would definitely recommend.

The paper towel holder was very easy to assemble. I did so in less than 3 minutes. It is sturdy and looks great with my black appliances. No need to hold the item while tearing away a paper towel.

It's solidly made, but I was disappointed that it didn't live up to the description. It's not supposed to spin, keeping the paper towels somewhat controlled. Nope. That was the reason for 4 stars.

It deserves 5 stars in functionality and looks but I would take a star off when there are no instructions. I had to refer to photo on Amazon website as the photo on the box was misleading. I like how it stops the paper towel roll from rolling uncontrollably. It is also steady on the counter. I had an OXO and whenever you tore a sheet you ended up with more than you wanted!

DO NOT BUY THIS...this is the biggest piece of junk...i bought 2.5 months ago and its already broken. I do not use more than 1 or 2 rolls of towels a month...and all the spokes broke off from the unit and its all loose.
