I am 5'6, 140lbs with long legs and short torso. All adult life jackets ride up on me. This one is not as bad and fits well. 8 have the adult s/m. Good size front pocket to hold provisions for long day trips out on the water.

Stohlquist makes excellent PFDs. This one fit me like a fat suit and I returned it. Found another Stohlquist that is perfect for me. (FYI, there is no free return shipping on this vest.) Love the colors. Lots are arm room for paddling. No rubbing. Pay close attention to the sizing. I am of small body build so it feels and fits great. It does turtle up a little when you sit down. My only desire is that the pocket on front - which I love - I wish it was a water proof pocket.

If you are after a PDF for whitewater, but are not looking to carry any safety gear, then this is a good buy. Here's the thing. It says class 3, but it has as much boyancy of any PDF I have ever used. I wouldn't hesitate to use it in class 5. But do that at your own discretion. The problem is that k bought it when I was getting into Kayaking and I thought it would be a white until I needed to carry toe lines, pin kits a knife and all the rest. Few months later and I really regret not getting someing with a quick release and a bigger pocket. So, it's a great vest, just give some thought to how fast you may want to progress onto something else. ... show more

I bought four of these because it noticed the same brand and model being worn by a fellow who reviews kayaks on You Tube. I like the side zip, which allows for a central pocket ideal for easy access to my cell phone. Our family uses our flotation devices while using both peddle and paddle kayaks and these vests are comfortable with either style kayak. The arm area allows for easy movement. Adjustments are easy - if you buy this and don't like the initial fit, play with it a bit. It adjusts in every direction. My wife gives this an 8/10 and I give it 10/10. We have four of these and, if we need more vests, will buy more of the same. All flotation devices have some bulk - this is a vest you can wear all day. ... show more
