    • Super good for cutting vinyl and sticker designs :)
at first it was extremely difficult to use, and wasnt even cutting the vinyl in the right spots. After watching some tutorials though i figured out how to make it work :) its super good and everything came in nicely package i definitely recommend! heres some tips btw: •make sure to print out the registration marks within the print border, and dont make your image bigger or overlap the print border, cut border, or registration marks. •watch youtube tutorials and test it out on just a plain sheet of paper so you dont waste any product (believe me its going to take multiple tries to get it right) •when inserting the blade, make sure that it is securely pushed down and INTO the machine, there shouldnt be any gaps between the blade and the blade holder. Even though it might say that your blade is already detected, that doesnt mean its securely in. •if your silhoutte is cutting in the wrong spots, it can be either: the blade isn’t securely in or, you moved the image with the registration marks before or after printing. When you finish adding your registration marks on an image, dont move around the image itself otherwise it wont line up, just print it and insert it into the silhoutte, then from your pc just click send to start cutting hope this helps! also recommend looking into how to line up your cutting mat into the silhoutte, it gave me alot of trouble at first lol also im giving it 5 stars for easy to use cause it technically is if u follow every instruction correctly ... show more

It takes time to learn, if it helps here's some tips. The slot for your blade? Make sure you push it in when your blade is in place, or the machine won't cut. There's a paper cutter in the back of the machine. The machine works perfect for cutting thick materials, and thin, if you're using sticker paper make sure you have it lined up straight or it won't cut right. ... show more

Disclaimer: I've only used it to cut vinyl so far. The machine. Very simple to physically set up. Cuts out the designs as cleanly as I could hope for. One thing is that it is pretty loud when cutting. I could see how it could be a little annoying for some, but I think it sounds pretty cool (like a retro videogame). The software. Pretty standard software setup. Just download it from their website and follow whatever instructions there are. Using the software can take a little getting used to (as does anything else), but not too complicated. Granted, I only import designs from photoshop and don't use the designer features. If you're like me and don't like going through tutorials or reading the manual, I would suggest looking up some youtube videos for whatever you want to do. Silhouette's software is superior and so much easier to use from a design perspective. There is a bit of a learning curve, as with anything, but Silhouette makes a great product. I have a Cameo 2 that is still going strong! I bought this one for the dual carriage and use of rotary blade and it hasn't disappointed yet. ... show more

Cut 2 designs and it died, machine won't power up. 15 minutes of work is all I got out of it. There isn't any customer support on Silhouettes end. The replacement they sent has worked terrifically! A ENORMOUS thank you to Amazon's customer service!!!

    • Rotary blade REQUIRED for cutting fabric - is NOT included, not available from manufacturer :(
Sole purpose was to cut small pattern and applique pieces from FABRIC. While it does cut paper and light card stock *very* nicely, the included autoblade will not cut fabric; a rotary blade is required. Rotary blade was NOT inluded and not available on Amazon or even from the manufacturer. :( Going back :( ... show more

    • CAREFUL...NOT FOR CHROMEBOOKS AT ALL
I got this machine and i was super excited to get it. the day after i got it, i ripped it open and started the setup. it is NOT COMPATIBLE with a Chromebook. Ive tried sooooo many ways watching youtube videos for alternatives, there ARE NONE. The software for this machine ONLY works with MAC OR WINDOWS....thats it. I had to return it and buy a Cricut machine because at least Cricut has an option for me to download the google app and use with my chromebook. Hope i was able to save someone else some heartache because i had NO IDEA!! ... show more
