The Tyrnos 2-Speed expands on the popular Tyrnos line, with selectable Power or High Speed gear ratio. Rip jigs fast, then put it in low gear for fish- fighting strength. Because two sets of gears are always meshed, changes can even happen under load, and the lever drag system provides easy, on-the-fly adjustments. Tymos 2-Speed additional features include: Topless Design (8, 10, 12, 16 only), Reduced Profile Top Crossbar (20, 30 only), High Speed Gear Ratios, Oversized Gears for incredible amounts of fish-moving torque), Diecast Aluminum Frame, Oversized Handle Shank, Alt,rnating Twin Pawl Anti-Reverse, Lightweight Graphite Sideplates with Aluminum Braces), Ergonomic Power Handle, Clicker, Harness Lugs (20 & 30 only), Ratcheting Drag Lever, Metal Series, and Rod Clamp Included. Tymos 2-Speed is approved for use in Saltwater and rated for use with Mono, Fluorocarbon and PowerPro lines.

Ordered two reels and spooled with 80# braid and mono topshot. They are very quality reels and everything appears to be working well so far. Plan to use for wahoo trolling and tuna fishing. I guess time will tell.

    • One of the two reels I ordered had a problem with the clicker

Took it to a local tackle shop. We took the reel apart and it appeared that the metal tooth that taps the gear to create the clicker noise was damaged and installed backwards so it couldn't reach the gear to create any noise. We reversed it and now the clicker works but it doesn't sound the same as the other one. I intend to contact Shimano to try and get a new part. Disassembly was not that hard once the guy showed me. So I think I can replace it if Shimano will send me the part. The other reel seems perfect (The two star rating is for the one with the bad clicker part). They are both at the Ships Chandler getting line put on and I ordered two more from them so I will have four total. ... show more
