This is my third Shark vacuum and there is a reason I keep buying them! They just work, period. My daughter is moving into her own apartment for the first time and wanted the same Shark we already had. It doesn't seem to still be available so I let her take it with her and got a new one for myself. I do also own a lift away but find it a little too heavy to carry around. The super long hose on this item achieves the same thing and is way easier to use. Assembly was very easy and no tools were needed. All of the components just click into place and probably took two minutes to assemble. I have learned over time that the two included attachments are the only ones I really use and both can be stored right onboard the vacuum. I love that both the foam and felt filters can be rinsed in water and do not need to be repurchased. That being said, I usually buy another set anyway so that I can rinse one set and still be able to use the vacuum while they completely dry out. As for the performance, it works really well. The ability to easily adjust the level of suction right from the handle means that I can go from a throw rug, to an area rug, to a wood floor quickly and easily. The swivel operates flawlessly and makes maneuvering a breeze. And the extension of the hose is great. To reach the ceiling, I don't have to do any heavy lifting or stretching. The dust bin is quite large and is also easy to release and empty. This particular item might not have a tons of bells and whistles, but it just works. For 95% of my tasks, it's all I need. And it is a great value! Every single one of my Shark vacuums are still working great, and I'm sure this item is no exception. For the price, it has everything I need and really exceeded my expectations once I used it. I don't see any reason to spend three or fours times the cost of this item on any other vacuum, when this item does the job. Highly recommended! ... show more

I just got this vacuum today but I did test it out. My tiny dog destroyed my last vacuum which I loved with his continuous attacks so this is a replacement. If you are someone who has a dog that likes to nip at your vacuum I think this design will work well. My last vacuum had a hose that ran along the bottom so every time the pup would nip at it the hose was under stress from the yanking motion and eventually it just broke. This vacuum has a hose that attaches at the back which is awesome. I also like that the front is a bit larger so he can't grab ahold and yank but that might not be the case if you have a larger dog. It is a nice simple straightforward design, has excellent suction and is surprisingly quiet. I find the cord length to be acceptable but I don't have large spaces in my home. Having only had this Shark Navigator Swivel Pro NV151 vacuum for a few days, I am generally pleased. The fact that it is light weight is a plus for me and the suction is - in my opinion - extremely good. It cleaned my laminate floors and carpet great. It is very easy to empty the dust cup. The negatives for me are: 1-that is does not have a light at the front of the vacuum and I'm accustomed to that with the vacuum I had and it was a real asset, 2-I would prefer the power switch to be up higher, perhaps on the handle, 3-it does not have a round brush attachment and I used that attachment on my previous vacuum frequently. I have been searching for the round brush attachment to order but I can't find one that is especially suited for this vacuum. I will update my review at a later date when I have used the vacuum more. - Having owned it now for over a month, I am disappointed. The wand is entirely too long, at least need an option for a shorter accessory. The swivel factor drives me crazy because it swivels too much. I wish I had never bought it. ... show more
