This is my favorite internal drive that I also use in an external USB connected enclosure for back up purposes. I have bought 3 or 4 of these. They seem to be good quality. I have never had an issue of failure in 6 or 7 years of using them. The price is good and allows storage of massive amounts of personal data at a reasonable price. Awesome deal, I have seen write speeds im real world transfer of large groups of files in the 170 range while transferring from internal small (like laptop) hard drives to this one. I expected to see the same from my SSD while transferring to this but most often I'm seeing around 75 max with 35 constantly. Although not the fastest it should last a while. I'm still using a 20 year old Samsung HD with a win7 64 os installed as storage and a back up is in case I have a snag with my win 10 on the SSD. ... show more

I got the 8tb version. Considering PC part prices rising, this is a great value for 8tb of storage. Works very well for storing files that you don’t need instant access to them. Loads as 7.2TB and speeds vary depending on situation. Highest write number I got was around 250mbps and lowest was 20mbps. Read speeds almost match the advertised numbers. I saw many reviews about the drive being loud, in my case it is very quiet and I cannot hear it even tho I have very sensitive hearing. I also saw reviews about the factory packaging, in my case the drive arrived in a very secure and durable cardboard box that is designed to absorbs some impact.
