  • A little bag that holds a lot.
Color: NAVY Size: 22 inches
Great for carry-on I purchased this Rockland 22" duffel bag with wheels because I have had a good experience with them. My previous Rockland 22" duffel bags were purchased elsewhere in 2015. The bag was carried on and fit in the overhead bin of the plane perfectly. I like to travel with Delta and use them as our carry-on with no issues. I did check it a few times due to the amount of luggage I had, and it held up to the flight with no problem. It’s a durable bag. I do like the two front pockets on it too because you can put extra stuff in it like you’re charging cords, earphones, and things you want to get too quickly. I can pack enough clothes, toiletries, a swimsuit, and flip-flops for a seven-day trip in the bag. I have larger suitcases, but for the price of checking bags ($35.00), purchasing this one made my trip easy by not needing to check a bag. The wheels are strong and held up well. IF you are trying to run, your bag may wobble unless it is complete and balanced. I also looked at many different bags like this, but many of them didn’t have the shoulder strap I like. Sometimes when I’m in a hurry to get a flight, I just put it over my shoulders like a duffel bag, and I can move faster. Then there are two strong handles so you can carry it upright, the same way a shoulder stat would. Plus, there’s an additional handle, so you can grab it quickly when you first put the bag on the wheels. That might seem like a little thing, but it matters to me if you’re trying to make a flight. Otherwise, pulling them around has not been an issue. I have, however, noticed the wheels on this new bag are just as strong as the ones on the new bag as the ones I had previously. I like the strong wheels because it doesn't fall over when you’re trying to move quickly. The zipper is robust and durable. Furthermore, I didn’t have to worry about it popping open as I traveled. I like the handle too. It’s powerful and it’s extendable when I fly. I want to put the handle in and zip it up so it’s not sticking out of the overhead bin. After many flights across the country, it has lasted for about 10 years. Plus, on several car trips around the states, the inside material of the bag was starting to shed little pieces. I probably would have used them a few more times, but the last time I checked, they opened up the handle, pulled it out, and lifted it with the handle. In the end, it wouldn’t go back in anymore. I think 10 years is a long time for a piece of luggage to last if you use it a lot. Finally, there were little pieces that were falling off the inside of the bag, and it was just starting to happen, but it was my last trip with this bag. ... show more

  • My favorite of all the pieces I own in this set.
Color: OWL Size: 22 inches
My collection is complete. I bought the owl suitcase and bag set. Then the 19" duffel bag and finally this 22 inch rolling duffel. I think I like this the best! It's nice and big with plenty of pockets. The handle can be hidden away or pulled up and locked if you want to roll it. I don't usually roll my duffels. I have the hubby haul my stuff out to the car . We are big road trippers and I over pack like crazy. This duffel will definitely fit what I need for a few days or more along with the bag that came with the luggage or the smaller duffel. Who knows, maybe I will pack all the pieces! The material is rip stop but doesn't seem super heavy duty and could possibly tear if it comes in contact with something very sharp. I had no trouble with the wheels when I tried the duffel with some stuff in it to see how they would work. The zippers all work fine and I like the spacious interior. This isn't the best quality but it is affordable, cute, and will do the job for me for sure. If I have any issues after next moth when I journey to the mountains with this piece (and others), I will update and rerate. Right now, I am going with 4 stars because I haven't had enough experience to say how sturdy it really is and how long it will last. Super cute though and appears well made. ... show more

  • Excellent bag. Durable. Great capacity. Wheels roll smoothly.
Color: ORANGE Size: 22 inches
Excellent!! Durable materials, wheels roll smoothly, holds a lot of stuff. I was looking for a rolling gig bag to replace the rolling backpack I had been using, which was too small. This bag has great capacity and easily accommodates my microphone and stand, tablet stand, folding music stand, as well my guitar stand, plus cords, and a pop-up stool. It's absolute perfection. ... show more

  • Pass on this one
Color: RED Size: 40"
I ordered this bag specifically to be used for a cruise that we were going on. We had to fly from our home city to the East Coast and then take the ship back to our home so, this bag has only made one flight and was unpacked upon arrival onto the ship then repacked to disembark the ship and drive home forty five minutes away. First, upon receipt of this bag, I was really surprised at the size of this thing, it’s much larger than I had anticipated. I packed it for the cruise and the flight. The initial problem is that in order to pack this thing so that it stays within the weight limits required by the airlines, there is quite a bit of empty space left in the bag. With the cinch straps pulled tight to reduce the space problem, a new problem has emerged, the bag is now unstable and will not stand up on its own, it’s a bit floppy. If you try to lean the bag against something to have it stand on its own, the nice wheels on the bottom cause it to immediately fall over. Also because this bag is so big and has to fall into the weight category, I had to pack a second carry on size bag for the rest of my clothing which means I didn’t need this huge bag if I was gonna have to pack a second bag anyway. Next problem I ran into was checking into the airport, the bag was within the weight requirements however, the size of the bag became a problem. The airline was going to charge me extra because the bag exceeded the size limit by quite a bit, they were nice enough to accept it as is after explaining the situation. Getting this bag onto the ship was no trouble at all and it actually fit nicely under the bed for storage. At the end of the cruise, it’s size did come in handy in order to pack the items we had purchased in the different ports during the cruise. It did still have the stability problem of not standing on its own. The night before departure, all bags are placed outside the room so they can be gathered and moved for pick up at customs, I had to sandwich the bag between the bulkhead and another suitcase to keep it from blocking the hallway. The ride home obviously went without a hitch due to it being our own transportation. Overall, the bag is really much larger than thought which is not the fault of the bag but instead it’s my fault for not paying closer attention to the dimensions. The quality of the bag is a different story. I travel extensively with my work and have always used the rolling duffle type bags but never this size. I always get a lot of mileage out of my rolling duffles but they hold up to the abuse that the airlines provide on a regular basis. The bag I was going to retire after purchasing this new extremely large rolling duffle has served me well for four years, COVID slowed my travel quite a bit but, now that we are over COVID, travel has picked up again. The only issue I have with my four year old bag is that the pull tabs for the zippers have broken off, the bag itself shows some wear but not enough to make me totally retire it. This new Rockland roller duffle bag was to become my go to primary bag but, the biggest issue I have with this bag is the quality. After one flight with the airlines, it now has a couple holes in it and one of the seams appears to be coming loose. This bag needs to be made of a more durable material or canvas to make it worth the price paid. If this bag would last through multiple round trip flights then I would give it a better review but seeing as it barely survived a single one way flight, I can’t take the chance of it being a total failure somewhere between my home and Alaska. If it is being used for road trips only, it’ll probably last much longer but in my case, it’s all airlines, no driving. I’m disappointed with the performance, or lack of, of this bag and will be donating it, maybe someone else can use it for at least one more flight and may get lucky enough to get a round trip out of it before it disintegrates. ... show more
