The spring is very weak. The plunger doesn't move very smoothly and needs "help" to extend. You get what you pay for.

I was hoping for more, but i have to remember that you get what you pay for. This was the cheapest stretch gauge that I could find. This tool might be just fine for most, but it was awkward for me to use. The frame was barely long enough to facilitate the rod bolts that I was working with. My recommendation is to spend the extra bucks and get a quality tool. This one is good in a pinch, but is a real pain to use. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The biggest issue is the spring is not strong enough to hold the tool in place. Which leads to the needle bouncing around and some guesswork and uninspiring confidence that you were getting the right measurement. Buying the ARP tool…
