I prefer using the factory batteries over third party. These batteries do the job although S5II battery life in general is fairly poor.

The DMW-BLK22 battery lasts way longer that 3rd party batteries especially if shooting in ProRes 4k 60p. I consistently got more than 30-50min longer battery life using the Panasonic genunine battery. Sure, I don't necessarily agree with the premium but I totally understand the rigorous testing and quality checks that needs to be completed until it goes to sale. Great buy. ... show more

I upgraded to the GH6 from a GH4. For those that know already the GH4's battery life was insane. while these newer designed battery for the GH6 will not last like the GH4s battery will - it lasts decent. I use about 2 batteries throughout a full day of filming and photos while hiking/backpacking. Plus remember the GH6 has a fan these batteries have to power. also I find the price for Panasonic's batteries is comfortable. ... show more

I only use Lumix brand batteries for all my cameras. I recently bought the GH6, and I am very disappointed with the batteries. I bought 3 of them (necessity) because the charge (4K video) does not even last an hour. It's okay for still photography, but really bad for video.

Buy original batteries. 3 of these are good enough to last a 8-10 hour filming day with S5.
