  • Good treadmill. Excellent delivery.
Style: T Series 5 Color: Black
My daughter and I really like this treadmill. Easy to use and quiet. Paying for the delivery + setup was worth every penny! Two men brought it to where I wanted it in the house, assembled it much faster than I would have been able to, and made sure everything worked. They tidied up after themselves, too. ... show more

  • Good Machine, Beware the Bloatware.
Style: T Series 10 Color: Black
The T10 Treadmill from Nordictrack is an awesome upgrade from the 20 year model we had. They are sturdy, reliable and overall, well built machines. IFit, on the otherhand, is comparable to the bloatware loaded on phones and computers. In a never ending race toward subscription eternity, Nordictrack requires an iFit pro membership to use regular subscription fee apps on their system. On top of that, their membership is about $40 a month. You'll need paid subscriptions to Netflix, Primevideo, and/or Spotify in addition if you wantntonwatch those. You can still use the treadmill without an iFit paid membership but I wonder how long that will last.I use an android tablet slung over the treadmill screen if I want to watch videos or use my phone and wireless earbuds to listen to Spotify. Nordictrack would be smart to make these apps free to use on their system. Next time someone asks my opinion about Nrodictrack equipment, I may be more inclined to tell them to shop around for a brand that is less inconvenient. Overall, it doesn't diminish the quality of the machine itself. But a company that creates inconveniences for those that don't pay, that are easy enough to get around, you have to wonder how long until they disable your machine for a fee. It certainly "updates" itself enough. Just my $0.02. Again, an excellent machine that does the job well at a decent cost. Just don't fall prey to the extra expense of the gimmicks. ... show more

  • Maintenance Agreement is a scam
Style: T Series 6.5S Color: Black
Edit: The NordicTrack maintenance agreement is a scam. I paid $200 for the 3 year agreement. First visit (still under warranty) was free to me. Called today for 2nd year and they are charging me a $25 travel fee for the tech to come out. That might be worth it if the machine was broke, but just basic lube and diagnostic it is a little steep. Machine is still great, but think carefully before buying the maintenance agreement. I could probably find a tech for basics a lot cheaper....and probably even just pay for broke parts with the $200 if it ever comes to that. One year on review: Definitely worth it -but shines with the iFit app. I got the small basic screen model T6.5S, but it was on sale for less than $500 delivered. Bought a Samsung Android Tablet and it has worked fine for using iFit app. The treadmill functionality really shines if you use the iFit trainings regularly. The speed and incline are controlled by the particular workout (but you can turn it down or up when needed). The iFit trainers are all very good but really enjoy Tommy Rivs and Stacie Clark workouts. I have worked up to 50 miles of running and 30 miles of hiking over the year. Lost 10 lbs and feel a lot better in general. The combo treadmill and iFit made that possible. Called for the annual maintenance and that was simple and easy. The five year maintenance plan was worth it for me, but this was my second treadmill and I knew I would put in a lot of exercise time. Assembly and first impressions (right after purchase) The first few instructions are a little sketchy unless you read the instruction manual. I tried their video build option and it is not nearly detailed enough. They use three different bolts for each support and the packaging gives the impression you just use one size. Once you read the instruction in the booklet, it all makes sense. There are a couple of points where they recommend having a helper and that would be nice, but I didn't have one. I used a couple of ratcheting bars to hold the control panel in place while I screwed it in and made the electronic connections. Worked fine. The other point is adding the pressure tube under the track part. I had a longer ratcheting bar and was able to brace the running track up so I could make the connections underneath. It worked fine, but did feel a little dangerous. That track is extremely heavy if it dropped on you. I set up a couple of chairs so it would not fall completely to the ground if it had come loose and tried to work as much as possible at the edge so I could get myself out of the way if it dropped. It worked great out of the box. Not sure how well it will hold up, but have seen videos of it working fine after six months. My old treadmill had lasted five years, and probably will make five more but I wanted the auto incline feature on the NordicTrack. ... show more

  • Honest Review of the Entire Process - Purchase/Assembly/Use
Style: T Series 6.5S Color: Black
I've been looking for a treadmill for quite awhile, and while I would have loved to buy one from Peloton, I didn't want to wait around until May, and I also didn't want to spend a fortune. Believe me, I thought that purchasing a treadmill under $1000 was a risky proposition, but ultimately, I am very happy with T6.5S from NordicTrack. Let me start by saying I was skeptical about the price of $697 from Amazon. Why was it marked down so much? I think I discovered this when the treadmill was delivered to my home. Be aware that this treadmill comes in a very large box and weighs 200 pounds. I paid the extra $20 for it to be delivered to the room of my choice; which was down a flight of stairs that has some pretty tight corners. I live alone, so this was absolutely the best option. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to open the box (which had some pretty severe gouges/rips in it, by the way) until that evening. Had I been able to open it with the delivery crew present, I would have sent it back immediately. The side rail (made of mostly plastic) had ripped from the MDF underlayment (surface just under the tread), and had shattered in multiple places. I discovered this after removing several of the parts and packaging. Well, I went right to my computer and contacted Amazon chat support to inform them of the issue. They were great, actually, and immediately scheduled the delivery of a replacement treadmill. I boxed the damaged treadmill back up, though the email from Amazon that I received a moment later told me that was unnecessary as the Amazon staff that were to pick up the damaged treadmill would bring packing materials. So, a week later the delivery men for the new treadmill showed up. They immediately told me they wouldn't deliver the treadmill down to my basement, but after I told them that I paid for that service and argued a bit, they agreed to. I have to warn you, the design of the packaging of this treadmill is pretty poor. If it is rested on a corner of the box, or even the side with any force, it will likely get damaged. It might be a good idea to warn the delivery guys about this before they transport it to the room of your choice. I also now wonder if Amazon tried to pawn off the damaged one to me initially, knowing full well it was damaged. I guess I'll never know. In any case, the new treadmill made it to my basement unharmed. After unpackaging all of the parts (carefully placing the foam inserts aside in case I had to repackage it), I was confident that nothing had been damaged in transport. I then read the entire assembly manual, which I highly recommend doing, so that you know what is coming. After getting the necessary tools (Screwdriver, adjustable wrench, and a socket set if you have one), I assembled the treadmill in about an hour and a half. I was able to do it myself, but it would certainly be easier with two people; particularly the point where you have to hold the treadmill up at an angle while you assemble the piston that allows you to lift it up and down for storage if you want to (I just leave mine down). Once the entire treadmill was assembled, I plugged into the wall with a power strip (also, recommended) and turned it on. Yes, I'm sure you've read all of the other emails about the requirement to sign up for iFit. Well true, the iFit icon does show up on the screen, and there is a bunch of documentation in the packaging about it, but as everyone else has mentioned, you just hold down the iFit logo button on the keypad for about 15-20 seconds and the warning will go away. Note: you need to have the safety/Stop magnet applied to the grab bar, or this process won't work. Also, I've notice that you only need to do this the very first time you power the treadmill on; on every subsequent power-up, it goes straight to the regular dashboard. As far as the functionality of the treadmill goes, it's actually pretty great, and just what I need. It's quite simple with settings for incline and speed (both up to 10) and I like that I can just touch '5' for 5 mph if I want to, instead of using the up or down arrows. There are some other features for different workouts that I haven't used yet, but I'm sure I will get to them. I've also discovered that it is very important to have the treadmill on a very flat surface. Otherwise, the tread will shift to one side. Even with the slightest incline in my floor, I noticed this a little bit. Once I figured out the best placement though, it was fine. Also, I noticed that the surface under the tread was virtually free of oil (probably from laying around in the Amazon warehouse for some time), so I purchased some silicone-based treadmill oil that you apply every 50 miles or so, and it works great! The display also comes with speakers installed, which guess you can plug your iPhone or iPod into with an auxiliary cord. Not sure I'll ever do that, as I just have headphones. Also, the sensitivity of the pulse meter on the grab bar has been hit or miss. Oh well, can't have everything. So, was the process a bit of a pain? Well, yes, but overall, not too bad, and well worth it for the price. I'm totally satisfied with this treadmill and it does everything I need it to do. ... show more
