Description

The Nest Learning Thermostat is a smart thermostat that learns your schedule and programs itself to help save energy. You can control it from anywhere with the Nest app, and it works with Alexa and Google Assistant so you can adjust the temperature with your voice. And it’s beautifully designed, with a big, bright display and metal finishes to suit any home’s style. [1] Remote control and mobile notifications require working internet and Wi-Fi. [2] Alerts can notify you of a potential issue with eligible HVAC systems. They’re meant to provide helpful information, not an endorsement, representation, or warranty of any kind about the health of your HVAC system. Alerts aren’t intended to replace a diagnosis by a qualified HVAC professional. [3] Energy savings are not guaranteed and depend on energy usage, weather, and other factors. [4] Voice control requires a compatible device, and working internet and Wi-Fi. [5] Independent studies showed that Nest thermostats saved people an average of 10% to 12% on heating and 15% on cooling. Based on typical energy costs, we’ve estimated average savings of $131 to $145 a year. Individual savings are not guaranteed. [6]Nest Renew requires 3rd generation Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Thermostat E, or the newest Nest Thermostat (sold separately), connected to a Google account. Only available in areas served by major continental US grids. Only available for customers on certain electric utility time-of-use rates. Learn more at support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11156316. • Sleek looking, works great once installed properly
This is much more sleek looking than the regular Nest thermometer that we have upstairs. Installation was a bear because we blew a fuse. Turn off the breaker, but also turn off the furnace separately. Ours is in the attic so didn't climb up there to turn it off. Kept getting random error messages during install - power not connected to AC, couldn't detect the R wire, etc. Tried everything. Finally gave up and called an HVAC guy. He came out and diagnosed and changed the fuse on the furnace for $129. Other than that, the install should have been easy. Very happy with it now and happy we paid the extra $$ for this model. ... show more

  • Elegant! Bland to Grand!
The media could not be loaded. I used to have a Honeywell thermostat that came with my house, but my OCD and I had a heated debate about its bland design and clunky functionality. It was like the beige cardigan of thermostats – functional but uninspiring and a tad effortful to use. I decided it was time to upgrade to something that matched my desire for style, automation, and cutting-edge tech. Enter the Google Nest Learning Thermostat in its stunning gold color. I was skeptical at first – it’s a bit pricier than the typical options! This beauty is like the James Bond of thermostats: sleek, intelligent, and effortlessly cool. Features like Alexa integration for voice commands, app support, and energy-saving magic have made my life infinitely easier (and my energy bills a bit friendlier). Even manually adjusting it feels like an elegant experience, not a monotonous chore. And gold color - it’s like putting jewelry on my wall. I’ve received more compliments on my thermostat than I have on my living room decor. True story! Now I understand why this gadget keeps going out of stock on Amazon If you’re on the fence about upgrading, let me just say this: stop debating and nest your way to a smarter, better home. Your OCD – and your guests – will thank you! ... show more

  • Neat Thermostat and Alexia.
I already had this Nest Thermostat working on my IPhone. It installed immediately. I read all the reviews on this and was puzzled why they are so down on the Google Nest. When I downloaded the Nest App on my computer, It worked, flawlessly. Here is the problem with the app you need for interfacing that I came across and what is probably got these negative reviewers so upset. I read the Nest inductions and got to the Migrate the Alexia with Google. I think it is all in the wording. At Google says to migrate to the your Google account. At first I thought they were going to change my email that is Alexia's and change it to the Google account. Their wording of Migrate, stopped me in my tracks. I looked at the reviews, negative and positive. The positives were hopeful. The negatives were confusing. Here is where I figured that Google needs to change the wording Migrate to Pair. Because, that pairing is really what you are doing. It is a word that people know. Migrate? That is understandably confusing and the wording of Migrate is deceptive. So my fellow Nest users, go for it. Oh, one more thing, when you get past Migrating be sure to go to get your's computer app at https://alexa.amazon.com/spa/index.html#appliances and "discover" the thermostat (or what ever else in the Google services you have. So it is a 3 step process that is really quick and easy. 1 On your PC, download the Nest App 2 .Migrate (which really is a pairing) the Google account with Alexia, 3 go to the Alexia page and discover the device. All works out super. Enjoy your thermostat. ... show more

  • One of the worst products I ever bought
I installed this in October 2023. I have an old home with a boiler and radiators and this was the only smart thermostat that was said to work with a two-wire system. All others required three wires which meant having a technician come in and run the third wire to the boiler. The Nest thermostat worked fine until one Friday in early January 2024 when suddenly the temperature in the house dropped. I checked our boiler and it was rapidly turning on and off, then staying off, then on and off again. I spent an hour on the phone with Google Nest support trouble shooting and finally reset the thermostat. It seemed to work so we ended the call and 20 minutes later it was doing the same thing. I reset it again and it seemed to work. At that point it was late at night and I went to bed. The thermostat was set to 70 all night long but when we got up in the morning the house was at 64° and the boiler was again clicking on and off. I called support again and spent two hours going through all kinds of tests and resets before the agent said they'd send a replacement in 3 to 5 business days. I explained that it was 8° outside and temperatures were dropping to sub-zero for the next few days and I had to have a working thermostat. The agent then kept me on the phone for another hour saying she'd connect me to someone who could help. She finally came back and said that they were too busy to talk to me and all I could do was wait three to five business days for the replacement. She understood how dire the situation was but also said there was nothing she could do. I finally reached a local HVAC technician who told me he'd replaced more Nest thermostats than any other brand. He talked me through a temporary solution so I could have them come out when it wasn't an emergency call. He told me I could pick up another thermostat for him to install, he did say he'd had good experience with Ecobees, which require a three wire installation. I've never had such poor customer service. The woman on the phone was very respectful and did her best to be helpful, but she clearly didn't understand what to do but was just following a script of what to try next. She seemed as frustrated as me that she couldn't get better help. I've since talked to other people who have had similar experiences with Nest thermostats. ... show more
