Recently installed an 8’ Raptor on a 18’ flats boat that I run in Texas. This anchor system is a huge upgrade over the previous one. It is built extremely well, has a very responsive deployment speed and the auto bottom and active anchoring systems work great in my use cases. I wish I would have put this on sooner as it is a game changer for stopping and staying where I want with my boat.

Did my research on the top three shallow water anchors, and Raptors won overall when considering down force, noise, weight, price, ease of installation. I've had them now for almost 2 months, no problems as all. Also love the fact that by lowering, then raising slightly and pausing, I can still get the boat in/out of the garage without even getting out of the truck. I do fish often in a very muddy/sticky bottom lake, and there are places where the raptors will go 3 ft. into the bottom of the lake, but they pull right out with no problems. I have not fished in heavy winds yet, but will likely get the opportunity to within the next few weeks.

Considering how large this is, it arrived quickly (and on time). It works just like a power pole. Only comes with the transom mount which didn't work for us. Be careful when unpacking, the hydraulic lines have colored caps that are important. 10/10 would buy again, but am being conservative on rating as we have only taken it out once. Will update after a few more trips. Dec. 2025- updating my rating to 5 stars. We've been using this for years now (a couple of days, 2-3 times a year, wish it could be more) and have been Uber happy with it. Would absolutely recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I do not recommend this brand shallow water anchor. Engineering didn't account for 10 ft anchor design using inadequate aluminum arms how this effects the units performance. I installed my 10 ft version on a CS 24 hybrid. Looks great and I was excited to use it. In shallow water 3 ft give or take depth the pin hits the bottom and stops. With light current and light wind the boat drifts causing a twist on the two aluminum arms. (These are mated together with several plastic hinges.) This twist in arms causes a loss in rigidity of the verticle spike. The twist shortens the distance from ground to arms thus causes the spike to loose pressure and now the Raptor unit senses loss of bottom hold so now the unit lowres arm to compensate but this only magnifies the problem because the arms twist more and more until the spike is laying in a 30 degree angle because how bent it is. It wouldn't matter left or right it always bends and it's embarrassing. The other brand I see always standing straight. I contacted Minn Kota and after a week I was told I need to turn sensitivity down. I researched and found how to in the app. This didn't help. It just took a little more twist on arms before hydraulics were activated. Then when sensitivity is on 10 the unit stops in drop about half way and started acting glitching. This was obviously not going to hold the boat. I'm past my return date but if I had it to do over again I would not listen to the hoax commercials about active anchoring because it's obvious the frames were under-built. I would go with the brand I see most boat owners chose.

Bought the Raptor to replace my Talon. Had two Talon’s and they both got stuck when down. Didn’t want to chance that again so I replaced it with the Raptor. Very easy installation and start up. Automatic features are flawless and easily set with the iPhone app. I’m Rey happy with this anchor and I no longer worry about if it will come up or not!

Have this on a 15’ aluminum boat, Look it says 10’ raptor at best 9’ on a calm day, waves maybe 8’ depending on the bottom, rockey bottom bounces on top of rock not great hold muckey bottom not a great hold but will slide Along through the muck on windy days but eventually grabs after a while in 8-9’ , sand grabs good, not to much slide grabs pretty good even on windy day it will hold around 8-9’
