  • Closest saw to Milwaukee corded Sawzall they make.
I purchased the hackzall from Northern Tool which supplies first quality tools. I could say a lot of good about this Hackzal having purchased from a good company to start with. But quite simply Milwaukee just made a saw that is as good as their corded Sawzall. And better because it's battery powered. I first used it with a 2 amp battery (Milwaukee does make good lightweight batteries amp wise) it worked well put on the 5 amp it worked well. The saw is light for working overhead remodel or new construction, long days feel shorter. The hackzall gets in tight places as good, and some better as corded model sawzall. I think the versatility of Hackzall will rule my work days for customers. Milwaukee now has 2 out of 3 tools that I know are worth buying. ... show more

  • Perfectly balanced in one hand.
This thing is the bomb! Which means good, oddly enough. Perfectly balanced, and can be easily used with ONE HAND. Medium weight. I saw it on a u tube video, and hunted it down on Amazon. Not cheap. Saw is inexpensive, only $130, but add 2 batts and a charger and $300.00 Worth it! I used it twice so far, Wow! Quieter, less vibration, and a shorter stroke. I always liked Milwaukee's corded sawzall years ago. but their cordless drills were not too good, back in the day. I will now be looking into a hammer drill from Milwaukee so I can retire the Ridged drill and have all the same batts. I am a Ridged fan, but the Ridged sawzall is very heavy. and long. This one fits in a smaller bag as not so long. This product increases accuracy, and makes it easier for beginners. ... show more

  • VERY pleased with this tool
This Milwaukee Hackzall tool was purchased (mostly) for use in tree/branch trimming and it does a remarkable job. The branches are cut smoothly, without tearing and it has always cut what we have tried with it. The battery has held up quite well with all the cutting we have done. Just make sure you have the proper blade and you're good to go. I would highly recommend the Milwaukee Hackzall. ... show more

  • Very Useful
I have owned this for a few years, and am very satisfied with the saw. My most frequent use of it is trimming shrub and small tree branches that are too big for traditional loppers. Very good batttery life. We gifted one to our son, as well.

  • Versatile tool for the kitchen, too
The Milwaukee M18 Hackzall has proven itself useful for home repair and renovation, tree pruning and more. I was recently informed that it worked nicely for cutting the frozen roast that would not fit into the Instantpot. I would suggest using a new, clean blade for food preparation.

  • As powerful as my full size reciprocating saw.
I cut down a couple of 2 foot tall stumps for starters, 6" & 7" diameter and made them level with the ground for mowing (can't do that with a chainsaw) I used a 9" blade, made for the purpose. Even after applying a lot of steady pressure I was unable to stop the blade, this saw is a tank. Then I cut all the limbs off a 25' tree we lost in storm. I still had one bar left and it was a good time to take a break. The battery ran a long time, I didn't time it, but I did time the recharge time, 30 minutes for a 5ah battery that was on one led. That was enough time for me to take a coffee break (I'm retired, I can take as long as I want) and then finish cutting the rest of the tree into fireplace size logs. I have a cordless chainsaw but I used this one just to see if it measured up to my expectations. It did in spades. This is a nice powerful saw, no hiccups, easy blade change, looks like a keeper. ... show more
