These rock for the price point. I have these paired with thump 15 mains and I couldn't be happier , especially with the cost. They handle everything I throw at it and the crossover built in gives me great separation with awesome low end. My bass player is beyond happy with that. He said he has never heard is bass come through so clearly.. I like the construction as well . Solid and certainly hefty. I bought the poles to mount the 15 's on top . They are heavy . I use a dolly or a friend to help me carry them . I can carry them but they are cumbersome and a bit too much to handle comfortably. Get ya some of these and you wont be sorry. Great for small venues like bars and small halls. I use them outdoors and they carry just fine. Not sure about a large venue, but that's not what these are for. Any place that's 100' x100' will easily get great sound whether inside or out. ... show more

Compared to other 18" powered subwoofer, this is very compact, relatively lightweight, and plenty loud. The handles at the top make it very easy to move around. It doesn't have super fancy dsp, but some basic functions to change the sound a bit, but for the price it is great. I like to use a cardioid setup for large events, using 2x subwoofers and using some delay and polarity reversal (these features are not built-in). These are compact enough to run back-to-back cardioid for a compact setup that works surprisingly well. I also have a pair of LD Icoa 18A's which are louder, but much bigger, heavier, hard to move, and hard to transport when I'm by myself. The LDs do have a fancy built-in cardioid capability, but I love the Mackie 118s! The threaded pole mount is great. I would definitely recommend getting the slip covers to keep them from getting beat up. ... show more

I bought 2 of these mackie thump 15 inch speakers. They have a clear crisp sound with a good range of mids highs and lows They are not cheaply made but very durable. As a dj i feel they hold up well to the abuse of constantly being set up and taken down. Overall im very impressed with speaker quality and value. ... show more

I went back and forth on these subwoofers between 3-5 stars. Essentially after having them for nearly 6 months, they have been reliable, durable, portable, and have the features you need for a good mobile subwoofer. The variable mode with crossover takes the need for low end on your PA speakers away. They don't thump quite as loud as I thought they would, but their size and weight compared to other subwoofers is a fair trade. I was able to get a great deal on these subs when Amazon had a deal at $570 a piece rather than current $750 a piece. At $750 a piece, I would rate these subs a 4 star, but I feel like I got a great deal. Overall Mackie makes good products. I had these paired with two old Mackie SRM 450 V2's and it was enough for very large weddings and parties. Just upgraded PA speakers but nonetheless, I have enjoyed my Mackie products. ... show more

What I like about this is that it’s not ginormous big is it the right size right height right weight and very powerful sound great bass. The bottom end is tremendous. I was running 215 inch thump speakers. I added this 18 inch subwoofer and it’s the quality sound that I’ve been looking for, but you can feel the music as you crank it up very please thank you and God bless you. ... show more
