  • Think twice before getting these
Color: Gray
Great hearing aids horrible app, It keeps resetting the settings. It changes the volume to different settings for left and right when that's not even to make them different from each other. same thing with the waveform it just changes it however it wants it pretty much every time I close and reopen the app. It's a shame this company went to all the trouble to produce a nice piece of hardware to be controlled by a piece of crap software; not sure if the Apple version is any better I only have Android. I very likely will be returning these. I'm not new to hearing aids I've had hearing instruments for the last 20 years, I have moderate hearing loss in the high end -40db @ 8KHz ... show more

Shipment was very fast. These OTC hearing aids are my backup to the $4000 Phonaks, one of which is now in for repair.

  • Good OTC hearing aid for the price

I have a genetic form of hearing loss but cannot afford hearing aids through insurance. I opted for these to see if they would help. And they do. I struggled quite a bit at first, because suddenly I could hear so many things that I didn't or hadn't heard before. For the first month, I was quite annoyed at how loud my hair was. Why does my hair make sounds? Also, whenever the dishwasher was running I was concerned there was a water leak in the house. It took me about a month for my brain to recognize what were normal sounds and what were not. But eventually all of those things that were amplified in an annoying way became normal for me and I don't hear (really, don't notice) my hair scraping or the dishwasher running. I did have to trim down the cochlear locks, but they work great now. The battery lasts me for about 3 days of constant use. The kit it comes with has served me well and the carrying case makes it convenient for day travel. I have a slightly larger bag for all the extras when I'm going to be away from home for more than a day or two. It came with several receiver domes and it took me a few days to find the right size. But that is the downside of not getting hearing aids through an audiologist who would help me size them and do education with me to avoid the common pitfalls. These lost a star because they are awful earbuds. While they "meets expectations" as a sound booster, they fall flat when being used to listen to anything on my phone. I go back to my Sony earbuds when I'm listening to podcasts or music. Overall, these do exactly what I *need* from them, though not everything I want from them. Most of the negative reviews I see on these are operator error or common issues with wearing hearing aids. And I'm sure these don't compare to the $4,000 versions that some wear, especially for those who are just using these as a temporary while their expensive versions are getting repaired. Of course these won't compare to your high-end hearing aids. These are not top of the line, but they do a good job for what they are. A solid budget OTC hearing aid. ... show more

  • Buy something else!

I had to have the first pair replaced after 6 months under warranty because 1 aid quit working and then 10 months later one of the replacement aids quit working. Expensive junk!

  • Not bad for an OTC hearing aid
Color: Black
Hearing aids can be expensive and cheap amplifiers are inadequate. The cost of these come just below my insurance allowance. These have been the best quality for this cost tier. My left and right hearing is different. These hearing aids are customizable from one ear to the next. You can even customize the sine wave to accommodate for your specific hearing loss in each ear. Get a copy of your sine wave from an audiologist or a free source online. I did not care for the free test from Lucid since it does not show your hearing frequencies in a chart form even though the adjustments you make in the hearing aid app are in a chart format. Speaking of the app, there are Android versions of the app and Apple (iOS) versions. Make sure you buy the version of the hearing aid that is compatible with your phone. Technically the App is optional, but there are more adjustments available is you use it. Most of the time I only use one. I find that when I increase the volume to improve my hearing there is annoying feedback. If I push the earpiece in my ear more it temporarily solves the problem, but if I chew or talk it wiggles back out. Placing my finger in my ear also works well, but that is not very practical to do all day. I've changed the tips to reduce feedback, but nothing seems to work other than lowering the volume (and my finger!). ... show more

Quick delivery, great customer service, Unfortunately the first pair were defective. Ordered a replacement much better but the program constantly losses its memory then I have to constantly re adjust the hearing aides to my preferences.
