I've always used CF cards but started using an SD and needed a newer, faster reader than the one I had. This has so far worked fine for me. I'm shooting full size raw on a Nikon z7ii and I'm not unhappy with how quickly I'm able to download images from this card. Overall a good product

My UHS II cards I use for my cameras show their full rated transfer rates using CrystalDiskMark along with this reader. The reader is up to the task. I've tested Sony, Sandisk and Lexar cards with it.

Best option hands down, small, reliable, relatively cheap and fast (when used with fast sd cards). No a dropped transfers in 2 months hard use, not a single recognition problem, and this wont destroy your data. Just buy this is you value your time, and your data.

I have mixed feelings for this card. I tested the speed of a Sandisk Extreme 256MB V30 UHS-I card and a Sandisk 128 Extreme Pro V90 UHS-II card. I tested them in the Kingston reader, cheapo XIT reader, and the built-in reader slot in my laptop. When I tested the 256 in the XIT, I got a speed of 20.781MB, in the laptop reader a speed of 84.175MB and in the Kingston 156MB ! ! ! I was extremely surprised the Kingston read my V30 card faster than the built-in laptop reader. GREAT JOB KINGSTON!!! Buuuuuuut I was disappointed when I tested the 128 V90 UHS-II card. When I tested the 128 in the XIT, I got a speed of 20.986MB and in the Kingston 156.25MB. (my laptop doesn’t have a slot for a full-size SD card to speed measure). Yes 156.25 is way faster than 20.986 but I expected a V90 UHS-II card to be read way faster than a V30 UHS-I card which was only by .25MB. I guess my transfer of pictures will be much faster using the Kingston in general. I just had high hopes for faster speeds on my V90. ... show more

I'm a professional photographer and I shoot a lot of raw photos and occasionally video on my 2-yr old UHS-II SD cards. My PC has a built-in card reader and I also own an external USB 2.0 card reader. The difference between this Kingston card reader and the ones I already own (UHS-I) is night and day. To test the speeds, I transferred 18 GB worth of video clips using all 3 readers. Long story short, this Kingston UHS-II reader is 5.6 times faster and 12.4 times faster than my internal and external readers respectively. If you want the specifics, it took 76 seconds at 235 MB/s. Before, it would've taken me almost 18 minutes at 42 MB/s. I will be purchasing a second unit so I can transfer 2 cards simultaneously and reclaim hours of my life. My PC only supports USB 3.0 so I assume this reader can read even faster on a USB 3.2 port on newer computers. And of course, you need UHS-II cards to take full advantage of this reader. It is a highly recommended upgrade if your old computer doesn't have a built-in UHS-II reader and you own UHS-II cards. The price is also very reasonable from a reputable brand. ... show more

The Kingston MobileLite Plus reader works with the newer Samsung EVO Select 512GB microSD card (blue/teal color) as the reader and card are both UHS-II. I can hit the advertised speeds with this reader, getting 134MB/s in sequential read and 125MB/s in sequential write. The SD card or adapter is held only by a pressure fit, but is snug enough that it won't come loose.. Works for what I need it to do and I'm happy with the price and quality. ... show more

Reaching 260MB/s plus on both read and write with my Sandisk extreme pro card. Beats out my Sandisk extreme pro reader by around 20MB/s on crystaldiskmark.
