The latches are simple enough for a 4-year-old to operate without help, which is a win for "independent play." The Mirror: They used a child-safe mirror (acrylic/polished film) rather than glass. It’s a bit warped (think funhouse mirror), but it won't shatter into dangerous shards if the bag gets kicked across the room. The Tools: The brushes are actually decent. They aren’t the "scratchy plastic" kind you see in cheap dollar-store kits; they have soft bristles that won't irritate their skin or fall apart after one use. Maintenance & Clean-Up (The "Handyman" Test) The biggest fear for any parent is a "permanent" purple stain on the beige rug or the white walls. Washability: This is where the product shines. It is water-soluble. In my testing, the pigments (blush, eyeshadow) come off skin with a simple baby wipe.
