Sharper than I expected it would be from the factory. I didn't even touch it up. I use it to drive wedges and clear around the base of trees. Definitely not a stand alone axe. Really fat cheeks, more like a splitting axe. A little too wonky for lots of limbing. And, the scabbard is pretty terrible. All of that said, I couldn't ask for a better or tougher partner with my chainsaw. So far it's been absolutely bomb proof. Just need to find a good mask for it and it will never leave my truck. ... show more

Great axe but doesn't beat my Truper Mauling axe. The wood this Husqvarna gets caught up in the Mauling axe moves through like butter. Great axe to leave in the back of the truck but not my go to.

This axe is pretty hefty, had to check that I didn't order the splitting maul by mistake. Chopped fine but did a great job splitting as well. Split about half a cord of dry ash to test it out, bit still looks like new - sharp with no dings or rounding over.

I was waiting to buy this ax for a while. Finally it went on sale and I bought. I just finished a weekend of cutting fire wood. The ax has great balance and goes through wood very easy. So why the 2stars? After cutting wood for a while, the cutting edge chipped. It was a significant chip, about quarter inch. I was not near anything hard such a rock or metal objects. I'm so sad since I had waited so long to purchase this ax. I own several Husvarna products and never had an issue. ... show more
