They are solid rubber weights. I didnt like that the weights came before my stand did, I had to wait 2 more days before it came in. I am not sure what happened but I got all the pieces. It is the perfect set for starting an at home gym. I am excited to add more weights as I progress in my fitness journey. They do have a rubbery odor when you initially open them, but I enjoy the smell. Overall a great purchase especially for the price.

The dumbbells themselves are nice, but the set shipped in two different boxes that got here days apart, then when the second box got here and the package was marked as delivered, we still didn’t have our 25lb dumbbells. Amazon’s options to contact the seller aren’t there, our only option is to return or replace, and that will require all new boxes because the ones they were shipped in were destroyed when they arrived. It’ll cost us a bunch of money to send them back when really all we want is to get a replacement for the 25lb pair, given it wasn’t shipped to us. There’s an open spot on the stand, the stand works great, the other dumbbells are great, but we’re missing the most useful pair for us.

These make home workouts a breeze! They seem a little heavier than what they say the weight is, but otherwise they are great quality. They had a really strong smell at first but it went away after a few days.

HORRIBLE SMELL I've washed these things three times with Dawn, and the smell is still very strong! They were VERY greasy, and it smells like oil? I consider myself slightly sensitive to smells... but my entire family has commented on the room stinking and giving them a headache. Otherwise, these seem like decent dumbbells for the price. Whatever metal they use is soft. It already has a few dents on the handle part upon arrival, and one had sharp shards sticking out that my husband easily filed off. Will update a review in a few months. Hopefully, the smell dissipates..

Review update from 1 star to 5 stars. Received all the weights and the tower. The boxes were a mess and partially opened but somehow everything (including the hardware) arrived and got everything put together and looks great. Good quality at a good price. Waiting for weeks to receive the weight set, Only to receive one set of dumbbells. Missing the 5lb,10lb, 15lb, and 20lb dumbbells. Now I gotta send everything back.

Reposting this same review as I had the same experience: This one-star review is due to missing pieces from the stand after it was shipped to my house, and no easy resolution from Amazon to fix it. The stand was missing all hardware (bolts/nuts) and the top piece that connects the two vertical pieces, rendering it useless. Amazon won't ship just those missing pieces - they want me to return it, which means boxing it up (150 lbs of weights in which several of the original boxes were destroyed during shipping) and driving it to the UPS store. I am hoping that Amazon will have a better option than this and contact me. The weights themselves look and feel good when in use. I didn't experience the strong smell others have mentioned - a little rubbery smelling out of the box but it dissipated fairly soon.

These well made dumbbell set. They come with a slight oil film, probably release coating from the molds in manufacturing. I did not have the odor others mentioned. The stand was super easy to assemble. They look well made, and a great price.

These have an odor that does not go away. We are storing them in the garage, otherwise the whole house becomes stinky. Washing them does NOT help, even multiple times.
