The Throttle Governor Spring broke after 2.2 Hours of use. I have been attempting to get a replacement for over a month. Generac's part support infrastructure is lacking at best. My local dealer has tried to source the part from two different suppliers, still nothing. I have called Generac and have a running case of them trying to figure out how to get me a part, but still nothing 2 weeks later. In fact, there are no Illustrated Parts Breakdowns for this even available to my dealer. He had to call Generac and wait on his rep to figure out what the part number was. That took a week just for that! I specifically bought this because it was American made, and locally made in Wisconsin, even though it does not have a load meter or remote start. What a complete disappointment. Stay as far away from Generac as you can. Predator, Champion, Duromax, a hamster in a wheel, literally buy anything except this generator. ... show more

Well the generator came in great only issue was the few bolts (which is the chomed nuts and bolts I had to acquire to replace what wasn't included in the order)and washers and things missing from my fasteners package, but luckily I'm a maintenance check and I have access to all those things and was able to remedy that but some people wouldn't might have to go to home Depot to get those things which should have been included but overall it's a generac it's a really good generator and it's guaranteed so it's pretty badass, but just to let everybody know, Vietnam needs to tighten up a little bit it was put together there, lol ... show more

Reliable Power! I wish our local utility here in Michigan could make that claim, but they can't. Hence, we got this Generac unit (the cheaper ones under a bunch of other names come from China, so no thanks!) to give us quick power when the inevitable interruptions from storms and downed tree branches cause trouble. We also had an electrician install the kit to connect the generator to the household circuitry (you need to have a cut-off switch at the panel inside, and a cable connection box at the outdoor meter (Well beyond my skills!) The system works beautifully with a battery that powers the electric-start feature, so no pull-starting needed. (I do keep that little battery on a charger.) I'm careful to maintain the generator with Sta-Bil in the gas tank if there's gas left there. And when powering down the generator, I turn the fuel-supply control off and let the generator engine run until it's deprived of fuel (this keeps old fuel from turning to varnish and gumming up the carb). Is the generator noisy when it's running? Yes somewhat, but when the power goes out, our neighborhood turns into "generator city," so no one minds the temporary noise. ... show more

Electric start never worked on product. Has a short that manufacturer wouldn't address. Unit has a national recall on it NOT related to the electric start. Contacted Amazon, who refunded the purchase price within 30 minutes. They would NOT, however, come get the recalled unit. It's 250 lbs and I'm stuck with it. I'm not going to use it as it's a risk to start it up, according to the recall. Calls to Generac have been worthless as they send me to companies that either no longer work wih them or have no interest in cleaning up Generac or Amazon's problems. So I'm stuck with a 250 lb Albatross on the side of my house. At least it's pretty. Amazon should arrange for someone to come get it and deal with the recall for their customer and/or the manufacturer should be reaching out to come get it. ... show more
