This flute is perfect for an intermediate player. I bought this for my daughter's 4th year of playing flute. It's absolutely beautiful. The sound is amazing. The craftsmanship is fantastic. Her band director spoke very highly of it and was very happy that we purchased it. The music store nearby was trying to charge me three times more. There are plugs for the open holes. My daughter is slowly taking them out to get used to the open holes. You will definitely get your money's worth and will be very happy. HIGHLY recommended!

Love the tone I get on this instrument. A major factor in my decision to buy was the other reviews stating that this is a good intermediate instrument, such as for use in a pit orchestra. As flute is my second instrument, I'd have to agree. My main instrument, I've invested a lot more in. Nonetheless, if you're looking for a good instrument that won't break the bank, this piece comes in a gorgeous red velvety case and padded overcast, with a cleaning rod, Gemeinhardt warranty and care instructions, and an anti tarnish strip. Most importantly, the extra length facilitates high notes, you have the b footnote, the advanced open-holed style, the beautiful silver, and quality of a Gemeinhardt.

So far extremely happy with the new flute!! Tone quality is amazing and we are slowly working on not using the plugs. My daughter needed a better flute now she’s on high school and I didn’t want to pay the enormous prices. This was a great compromise. Shipping was great after I contacted them since it had been a week but they responded right away and i received it quickly.

This is the perfect flute for a student or a hobbyist flautist seeking a budget friendly intermediate flute. I haven't played the flute in years and recently decided to get back into playing again, but wasn't looking at spending thousands of dollars on something that was only going to be for personal enjoyment. This flute for it's price is simply amazing, and I will enjoy it for years to come. Thanks Mike's Brass and Woodwind for the little goodies that came with the flute, very much appreciated.

It is not the best flute in the land but it is quite a step up from her previous $300 model. It has much better sound. Not as good as my other granddaughter's $2,000 pearl but a step up. She also went to band camp last week and made top band for final performance. I am sure a lot of it is her competitive nature and the fact she practices everyday but having a better instrument never hurts. In my opinion well worth the price. If she makes top band in high school she gets the pearl though and can use this one for marching.

I purchased this flute to replace an older flute I’ve had for years. I’m not a professional musician, but just play for fun. I love my new flute. It came with hole covers, but I was able to pry those off, as I like the feel of the open holes and it gives me more flexibility in playing. This flute has a great tone, and I love the Bflat foot. I haven’t had that on my older flute, and having that one extra note is great.
