    • Good Thermostat, BUT it is made by Motorad (!)
This thermostat works well although I have the feeling it is a bit 'lazy'. My OEM seemed to have been a bit more responsive and moving less, with a slightly smaller amplitude (after subsequent long-term use within a well maintained and correctly functioning cooling system, so no air within the system what so ever). Most notably this Thermostat is made by Motorad. It comes in Gates packaging, but inside the packaging you will find a Motorad Thermostat. Not only that, the "Motorad" insignia (on one side of the metal support beam) is even seen on the Amazon provided pictures as well as on ALL the other stock pictures that are found on the net about this thermostat. So in the case of THIS thermostat, Gates is clearly offering a repackaged Motorad thermostat. Not a deal breaker as both companies are known to make excellent premium thermostats. Never the less, JFYI. On a side note, please be advised that on the other hand Motorad Thermostat Company has bought up Stant Thermostat Company, so there seems to be some wheeling and dealing among the manufacturers. Opens right up at around 210 like their ment to do and are truck runs warmer than it used to with the old one it now it hits and stays around 180 compared to being at around 110-120
