I turned 50 this year and with age and amassed trauma collected through the 50 years I have gained weight. I also blame the pandemic and isolation creating an elastic band friendly culture, but that is to make me feel better about buying myself non stretchy pants with an elastic waistband. I freaking love these pants. Soft and comfy without the judgemental button band leaving indentations on my squishy belly skin. My only issue is that each time I use the loo, I am reminded that I am wearing pants that my Grandma would have worn. She had a collection of pants that looked like slacks or jeans but they all had elastic bands. Anyway, the tag taunts me each time I see it. Which is often, because I'm 50 and using the restroom happens a lot more than it used to. Each time a sigh escapes from my chest as I read "EASY PANT". I am confronted with my age and stage in life. Confronted with my own mortality. I'm in a place where my nieces and nephews will see my clothing choices and fear the elastic waistband of death in their future much like I did as a young person. Reading "EASY PANT" reminds me that I need to book that colonoscopy now and that I need to get my eyes checked again to update my bifocals. Yes, the picture in the ad looks all hip and cool. It was one of the last hold outs I had in my " I will never wear _____ because only old people wear them". I already have a dozen cardigans, tshirts with cute things on them, tunics, compression socks, sensible shoes, etc. I've come to the place in my life where I now officially wear elastic band pants. I don't think there is a way of going back now. I bought a couple more pairs. They are insanely comfortable and look nice with tshirts with kittens on the front and a big cardigan, fun colorful socks and a pair of tennis shoes that look like brogues. Give in to the comfort of these pants. I don't regret it. I'm free to move without restrictions. It's amazing. Why did I fight this for so long! ... show more

These start out super comfy and soft (which I give props for that) but within no time bag out and loose their shape. I sit at work and now the knees look so stretched out and baggy that it looks like I'm wearing pajama pants! Same with the butt area- hellllooooo saggy, baggy, bottoms. Get these if you want to lounge around the house or sleep in them or if your into the saggy baggy bottom look. Do not get them if you want to wear them out anywhere- you'll start out looking cute and within no time look like you just rolled out of bed. ... show more
