I bought these for the top of my husband's closet and they worked beautifully for that purpose. For the price, they're well-made and look nice. They're small, but accurately represented (note measurements). From those measurements, I was able to order the baskets (also from Amazon) in the photo at the same time I ordered the shelves and it all worked. (Note that these shelves DO come with a back, which I never planned to put on; if you put the back on, these particular baskets will overhang the front of the shelves. The baskets in the photo are the Mimonhouse Woven Baskets for Shelves, Medium 2-Pack in Natural Water Hyacinth.) Assembly was easy enough that I could do it, which is saying something--I can't usually even put a simple shoe organizer together! All that said, I probably wouldn't stack a lot of heavy books or plants on these shelves and expect them to hold up in the long-term. The Furinno 5-level shelf is an excellent option if you are looking for something functional and economical for small spaces. I give it 4 stars because, although it is very easy to assemble and has a modern design that looks great, the material feels a little light, so I recommend not overloading it with objects that are too heavy. It is perfect for small books, plants or decoration, and for the price it has, the quality is more than fair. Great quality considering it's not real wood. It feels solid and similar in weight to real wood. Very quick and easy to assemble. Instructions indicate 50 minutes for two people, but it only took me 20-30 minutes solo. Assembly instructions are very simple and clear, with the exception of showing which direction the back panels should face when you slide them in (they are finished black on one side and unfinished on the other). Each board includes pegs that you insert by simply pushing into the designated hole (which holds the pieces into place so you can then insert and tighten the screws without anyone helping hold it together and which also provides extra support/strength once assembled) and screws that are very easy to tighten without the need for an electric drill. Some extra corner supports were included that you are supposed to install in the back, but it seemed unnecessary to me and located in a spot that wouldn't actually provide extra support. I did not install them, as I'm only using the shelves for shoes and nothing heavy. It is a great storage solution for shoes. The shelf height fits winter boots. The shelf width fits two pairs of shoes fit side by side (plus at least two more pairs stacked on top of those). If you take notice of the dimensions shown in the product description before purchasing, you won't be disappointed with the size. The color black looks good. I don't expect any chipping/peeling. I got this when it was on sale for $24.00, but would definitely purchase again at regular price. ... show more

Assembly was easy and straightforward — just make sure you pay attention to which side you want the color on before you start, since the reversible panels can go either way.
