The Amazon Fire TV Stick has completely transformed our home entertainment experience! The picture quality is impressively sharp and clear, making our older TV feel like it got a major upgrade. Streaming is lightning-fast with no buffering or lag, even when we're watching 4K content or switching between multiple apps. I absolutely love having access to both free and live TV options right at my fingertips, along with all our favorite streaming services. The Alexa Voice Remote with TV control is a game-changer—being able to search for shows, adjust volume, and control our TV with just my voice makes everything so much more convenient. My kids have figured out how to ask Alexa to find their cartoons, and it actually works perfectly every time. Setting it up was incredibly simple, and the interface is intuitive enough that even my parents could navigate it easily when they visit. The price was absolutely the best deal I found for a streaming device with this level of performance and features—it costs less than one month of cable but gives us access to so much more content. I'm definitely planning to buy more for our bedrooms and have already recommended it to friends and family. I have had Firesticks for several years now and they are a very good option for streaming. The first few sticks I had didn't last as long as the newer versions but that is likely due to advances in technology. It comes with all the things you need to get it up and running immediately, even batteries for the remote. The OS is user friendly and works very well. It makes sense how its laid out is easy to navigate. Something else I like about it is that it is an android based OS so there are developer options which allow you more opportunity for customizing your experience. In the past the most common issues Ive had with it are the OS slowing down. There is 5gb of internal storage on it and it can get bogged down if you have a lot going on. Over time I notice there is a delay in the responsiveness to remote commands. Resetting the device does improve the lagging for a short period of time but it isn't a permanent fix and it never goes back to how it ran when it was brand new...just a little less lag. In my experience these devices will last several years before needing to be replaced. In my opinion, that is a great bang for your buck. Something else great about them is that you can find them on sale all throughout the year on amazon. There are also numerous areas for support on the amazon site as well as live customer service to help if you need it. I have used other streaming devices before but keep coming back to these. One side note....we have phillps hue ecosystem for our lights and use the hue sync box to control the lights to match the colors on the screen. We bought the 4k stick and it wasn't compatible with the hue sync box. Our sync box is several years old so perhaps the newer ones have a patch that fixes the issue but we weren't able to use the 4k stick with our hue sync box. The HD stick works just fine with our setup. I will say that there was a noticeable picture and audio quality difference with the 4k stick, but not being able to work with our lights was a deal breaker for me. Overall I would recommend this device for anyone. It's affordable and works great for all of our needs.

The Amazon Fire TV Stick is amazing, VERY functional, and something that I'll use forever. Key Takeaways (PROS): 1. It turns your non-smart TV into a smart TV a. I have plenty of TVs that aren't smart TVs that were old giveaways. They mostly had good resolution (720p, 1080p) and some of them were HUGE (I was given a 62ish? inch TV1080p), they just weren't smart TVs. Having a Fire Stick solves this problem. b. You'll see the same size smart TV in a store with the same resolution quality, but it's way more expensive than the non smart TV --> all you need is a Fire Stick! 2. The picture/resolution is amazing as it uses your HDMI port a. This means the picture will be as nice as your TV can handle i. I’ve used this on a 720p TV and it looked amazing. 3. User Interface a. The User Interface is just as good as any other smart tv or even gaming console. i. They have the sponsored stuff from Amazon at the top, but just like anything else --> you can customize the apps on the page. b. It's not confusing at all, it's pretty user friendly. c. They have a "Continue watching" list on the front interface from any app that you were watching on. 4. Smoothness of running programs. a. The smoothness of the programs and selecting things is fast. 5. Ease of use a. The remote has a mic, so you can just speak into the mic and say whatever you want to watch (Amazon Alexa), or if you want to go to the app store, just say "App Store". This mic feature is super useful. 6. Remote a. Not many buttons, which is good because they don't have any other junk buttons like on a traditional TV remote. Simple and user friendly. b. Play, pause, skip forward/back, settings, home buttons and more. Maybe adding a CC button? Everyone uses subtitles but it's not always straight forward on some apps. Key Takeaways (CONS): 1. Some apps stay open even if you turn off the TV with the Fire Stick remote. a. One time I was watching Youtube videos before bed and I turned off the TV with the Fire Stick remote and the next day it was still playing videos when I turned the TV on with the FS remote. b. Other apps close when you turn off the TV in the middle of watching something. c. Now I close all apps before turning off the TV. 2. The Internet browser cursor could be smoother, but I don't think any cursor from anything other than a mouse is smooth. 3. The app store doesn't have everything, but it does have most things. 4. There's no app to screen mirror on the Firestick. a. For instance, since the Firestick is used on non-smart TVs, I would like to have the option to screen mirror from my cellphone to the TV. In conclusion this is one of the best technologies and you can save a few bucks from buying a smart TV and just getting a Fire Stick instead.
