  • Lovely tarot deck!
I love this tarot deck! Love the colors used and the matte finish, the golden edges of the cards are a really nice touch. The artwork is beautiful - simple and elegant, while still staying true to the images from the rider-waite-smith deck. The cards feel very nice and good quality, but in my opinion are a little too stiff/rigid, which makes them difficult to shuffle sometimes, along with the fact that I find the cards want to "stick" to each other. I'm hoping this will ease with time, the more I use them. They are about the same dimensions as regular playing cards which is smaller than your average tarot deck, which is a bonus in my opinion as they are easier to handle. I Iove the book that comes with it, and how it has a very simple and brief description of each card's upright and reverse meaning, (unlike another set of mine that has an entry of multiple pages for each card), however there are times I'd like a more detailed breakdown of a card, but in those cases, I have many different sources (books and websites) for tarot card meanings. ... show more

  • This deck is amazing.
The media could not be loaded. I really like the color scheme. The marbled look of the purple areas is a super nice touch. The gold ink is lovely, the gold edges are beautiful, and the carrying case and guide book make this a wonderful deck for anyone new to tarot or are on the go. The box isn't very hard to open once you get the sticker off. Make sure to open it from the top, there's a divet in the top edge of the box that makes the plastic easier to open. They do stick together a bit at first, but that goes away once you separate the cards individually and shuffle of a bit. Same with the weird texture others have mentioned, it gets less weird the more you shuffle. The simple design pared with keeping much of the original symbolism makes this deck rather easy to read intuitively, and makes it the perfect deck for a beginner who needs a cost effective deck, but isn't a big fan of the original images of the ryder waite tarot. The only issue I have is that the marbling is the same on the back of all the cards, and isn't designed to be reversible even if the images are. This means you can easily tell if a card is reversed or not once you are familiar with the marbled pattern. This is a VERY small niche nitpick for what is, in all other facets, an amazing and beautifully designed deck. I also use shuffling tarot decks as a form of fidgeting toy. These cards are a perfect size and weight to make fidgeting with them very comforting and satisfying. I believe this deck could find a special place in any tarot reader's collection, and would recommend it to beginners and experts alike! I look forward to using them often! ... show more

  • An elegant and convenient deck
This is one of the more unique decks in my collection. The art style is simple and alluring while maintaining all the nuance of the original rider style tarot decks. The booklet seems a bit bare bones, but then there are other books on tarot card meanings that you could buy to supplement the deck, especially at the low price point which is a major plus. One pleasant surprise was that the card's sides have a sparkly gold treatment that makes the deck profile look gilded, and the gold color in the card art is more lustrous than the images suggest. The cards do tend to stick to each other a little, but i wager that will lessen with use. The small size of the cards means that you can take this deck on the go without over much fuss or losing any bag size. If there was a con to point out it's the simplicity of the art style, which doesn't leave allot room for interpretation or reflection, but that's merely a trade off of the art style used. A solid deck to consider for beginners to cartomancy and veteran card readers alike. ... show more

  • Beautiful deck at a great price
There are a few things I like about this deck: 1. The illustrations are really professional. I can read the cards quickly and easily. The colors are well chosen too, sophisticated and dramatic. 2. It comes with a little guidebook, which is great for beginners. 3. The packaging is solid and attractive. It has a magnet in the flap for a snap-close to access the guidebook. It's high quality at a great price. 4. The cards are small enough to shuffle easily. 5. The card stock is stiffer than other decks. 6. You can open the magnetic flap to use the little guidebook or you can open the clear plastic flap to pull the cards out. You con't have to deal with the little guidebook if you don't want to, but it's always there. There are a few things I don't care for: 1. The clear plastic flap on top of the box is hard to open. It was hard to open the first time, and it continues to be awkward. I don't find myself resenting the packaging, but it could be easier to open and close. Maybe a future edition could feature an easier "cards only" flap. 2. The illustrations were made on a computer. This is an efficient way to design a deck, but I notice, for example, that the hands have three or four stock gestures. A well-trained artist (like me) could make more organic-looking illustrations by hand, although it would take years. This is a matter of taste, not a matter of quality. The illustrator clearly knows her business. 3. The deck has a piece of foam in the box as a spacer. There must have been a reason for this, but I don't know what it is. When I put the cards in the box without the foam spacer, they rattle around. They're easier to remove, but I'm keeping the foam spacer in the box. It's not a problem, but I'm a little confused by it. 4. The two extra cards with sample spreads and steps to follow for an accurate and insightful reading would be, in my opinion, better as opening pages of the little guidebook. I don't care for extra cards, but I don't want to throw them away, because the information on them is good. This is not a big deal. Overall, the deck is beautiful, the pictures are easy to read quickly; and the deck, box, and guidebook are made of high-quality materials. If the packaging is improved in the future, I would give it five stars. ... show more
