  • Great Guitar
Great guitar, well packaged!

  • Great guitar options
You can switch pickups and tones so easily while recording to sound like you have two different guitars. Playability is nice. Needs setup put of the box. Heavy like any other Les Paul.

  • It's a great guitar, but...
I've usually been a Fender guy. This is my first Les Paul. Out of the box, it looks good. But, if you have any experience playing, you will quickly see that this guitar needs a complete set-up prior to playing. The neck needed to be adjusted. The saddles needed to be filed as the strings sat at varying heights. This guitar has a 12 inch neck radius. The intonation also needed adjustment as notes played at the 12th fret were either flat or sharp. The action needed to be adjusted, and for the nut, the low E string needed to be filed. If you take this to a luthier, that could be a $200 set-up. Take this potential cost into consideration prior purchase. Fortunately, I have experience with this and the necessary tools to set-up my own guitars. It's also worth noting that no case is included. I had to purchase an epiphone les Paul case which added another $130 to the cost of this guitar. Due to the 24 jumbo frets and the longer neck length of this guitar, third party Les Paul cases may not accommodate this guitar. For the good, once I properly configured this guitar, it's great. The single coils are clean. The humbuckers with the tone cranked have an excellent crunch. My home amp is a marshall dsl5cr with a celestion greenback. It's easy to play clean or drive an utterly disrespectful high gain tone. The asymmetrical neck also allows great playability and access to the low strings with minimal fatigue. The finish is a satin black and the tiger stripe maple top looks good. The ebony fingerboard is also a very nice touch. Aside from the set-up and the case, I cannot think of anything wrong with this guitar. Update: 20Jun2025. The neck position pickup died. It's all digital and has a pcb in the pickup. As anyone who builds computers knows, a pcb can inexplicably die for no apparent reason. This most likely occurred with my guitar. I replaced the electronics with the Het set from EMG. I also leveled the fretboard, filed, crowned, dressed, and polished the frets. This guitar is now what it should have been when it left the factory. ... show more
