This works really well for my mother, the only thing that needs to be better is the headphones. They are just way too big for he’d head so I had to give her a pair of mine to replace them. For the price you should be able to make them the size need to fit your head.

This unit is well worth the money as opposed to the lower prices Reizen unit. With the cheaper unit the ear buds fall out at the slightest movement. There is some static and crackling sounds. The better unit has comfortable headphones that stay on. The sound quality is much better quality. As with all amplifiers the less of the total amplification ability you have to use, the better the sound quality is. If course any personal amplifier will also pick up sounds in the room, but in a quiet place you will hear very well. Pay the extra and get the better Reizen. Use large safety pins to secure it to the arm of your easy chair. ... show more

I bought this while searching to replace my original "ears". I use it for TV. This came with headphones, which I need, can't use ear buds. The sound quality (lack of) is hollow, monotone and very scratchy! The headphones are the most uncomfortable set I have ever used. (no other set I have is compatible with this) There is one thin layer of foam, so you feel every bit of metal and plastic under it! It causes a lot of discomfort on the ear itself. Ok for short term use, but if watching a movie, your ears will be in pain! I ONLY kept this set until I can find my original "ears". Not worth the money at all. ... show more

We love it. My wife is 82 and her hearing is in bad shape but getting the ear buds in the ear and keep them there was not easy. This one is Great. She and use the Head phones or the one eat price and they work great. And the price was very nice.

    • Just had to replace the last one that was only 4 months old.
I bought this about 4 moths ago to use at church. It works well, I just have to turn it off when we sing or it is too loud but it is great for sermon and announcements. I use it with the headphones as the earbud is hard to use since I wear hearing aids and have to take one out of my ear to use that and then the sound isn't balanced. But, the headsets work fine. However, last week I was driving to Bible Study and picked up the device off the seat. It was hot. It didn't turn on and was getting hotter. I opened the battery compartment and the batteries were getting hotter, burned my finger getting them out. It appears to have shorted out, while turned off and not being used. I changed the batteries and the device is completely dead. As I depend on it, and since it has given good service up to this time, I ordered another, got it in 2 days and can hear what is going on again. I have shown mine to 3 people, my age, in church, who have expressed an interest in buying the device so I talk nice about it, but am concerned about the shorting out. What would have happened if I hadn't picked it up and found it hot? Would it eventually caught on fire? Could it have caused a fire in my vehicle? ... show more

package arrived in soft packaging. The device was in a tiny box, but headphones were not. The headphones broke instantly after taking out of the plastic wrap. The single earbud that also came with the device was mostly comfortable but its a single earbud, not double, like the headset that came with it to cover both ears. The volume control was very sensitive to touch; barely trying to move the dial would increase the volume a lot-- this is good, but for the person this was bought for, this is not a good thing. The broken headset was really disappointing, but the device itself does raise the sound volume of things very very much.
