I’ve been a full-time professional photographer and videographer for years, and I’ve used a lot of gimbals across different brands and generations. The DJI RS4 is hands-down the best one I’ve owned so far. Setup is fast, balancing is straightforward, and once it’s dialed in, it just works. The stabilization is rock solid, even with heavier camera setups, and the motors feel incredibly responsive without being jerky or overcorrecting. It inspires confidence when you’re shooting real jobs where you don’t get a second take. The build quality is excellent — solid, well-designed, and clearly made for professionals who use their gear daily. Controls are intuitive, battery life has been great for full shoot days, and overall it feels like DJI really refined everything that mattered from previous versions. If you shoot professionally and rely on your gear to perform every time, the RS4 is absolutely worth it. I had to wait until I could order it. I couldn’t even preorder it. Once I saw I could get it, I bought it to add to my arsenal. I used it for the first time this morning for a commercial I shot. I ordered the DJI RS4 from Amazon, which was sold by Air Foto with fulfillment by Amazon. The item was defective and wouldn't charge past two bars. I called DJI support and they said returning it through Amazon would be easier. So, I called Amazon and I told them I had already throw away the packaging but had the product and said it was defective. They said no problem without the packaging. We sent EVERYTHING in, and THEN, I ordered a new one actually sold by Amazon and it was not defective. Now, Amazon (or, perhaps, Air Foto) is claiming that we did not send the right product back when the only thing missing was the package, and refuses to refund it. Not that the product worked, but they did this without even sending the defective back to me, so I'm now out both money and a defective product! Beware Air Foto! ... show more

    • A nice upgrade from the RS3 and RS4. Doesn't come with the tracking module on base package.

Actually is a noticable slight upgrade from the RS3 and RS4. I wouldn't go out of the way to get this if you have those already, but for someone who does a large volume of work on Gimbals because of what I shoot, the small changes are very appreciated. Build wise, it's got the same build and feel as the RS4 and RS3, but those extra adjustment knobs for the two extra axis are amazingly useful. It made balancing the 5 a LOT faster than the 4 and 3. Also something nice is all the parts are stealthier black now, which aesthetically I appreciate. So things like the lock down knobs are black instead of silver. The gimbal tripod feet is incredible, and something I appreciate. When you lift one side, all of them open. I had replaced all of my other gimbal feet with the Falcam Treeroot before hand because the falcam did this, but it's nice to have a DJI branded one. So just a heads up, the basic kit DOES NOT come with the tracking module, but you can use the RS4 Mini's module on this. Battery life is consistent with the RS4, and all the accessories from the RS4 and RS3 work also. Very easy to setup if you are comfortable with gimbals. ... show more

Fantastic piece of hardware. However, this will not automatically smooth out your shots. It is borderline an athletic endeavor to shoot with this device and achieve steady video. Additionally, the camera balancing process can be a bit tedious.
